This is a short notice, at this moment in time, my position at the Dirt Sheet HD has become untenable, it seems highly unlikely that the situation that has caused this will be rectified so therefore I feel the only thing left for me to so is resign. If by some chance in the distance future the situation changes then maybe I can return, much like Jerry Lalwer did, but I would not hold my breath. I would like to say thank you to anyone who has read my contribution to this site. I loved writing for this site as it gave me an outlet for my WWE thoughts, but such is life.

Cena's choice

At Survivor Series Cena has a choice to make a choice I sympathise with. He has to chose to lose his job or help the he hates win the WWE title. I understand how he fells, sometime no matter what you do it is wrong. It is a tough choice to make, but unlike somepeople Cena can see the two outcomes and well his choice is easier than somepeople think. If Barrett loses then Cena is fired, he is out of WWE for good, this means he could never get revenge. Whereas if he lets Wade Barrett win the WWE title he is free from Nexus and a WWE superstar and he can get his revenge or if the WWE Universe hates him for his actions he could join the Nexus as a willing memnber. See Cena is lucky he can see the outcomes of his actions before he act. So, although his decision is similar to the concet of a 'locked room' as put forward by philosopher John Locke, there is only one option for Cena that appears to be logical, screw Orton. At this moment in time my sympathy does not lie with Cena cause he knows what's going to happen in advance. Some of us don't...

Paul Bearer: The Ultimate Manager ‘Oh Yeah!’

2 weeks ago on Smackdown, in my opinion the greatest manager in WWE returned. It was of course the pale faced former undertaker, Paul Bearer. He arrived in a normal manner for him, from within a coffin. His return was not just surprise to Kane but it was also surprise to most of the fans. His return made almost perfect storyline sense (I will explain later some of the flaws) and it has made sure that the Hell in a Cell PPV will be really interesting.

Now before I get a hundred of emails telling me that Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan or the late Captain Lou Albano were better managers and don’t get me wrong I am not saying they are not good managers. But what I am saying is that Paul Bearer is the best. The reason as far as I am concerned why Bearer is best is because unlike other managers who had lot of wrestler under their control who were all different, Bearer only managed a certain type of Wrestler, for example: Kane, Mankind (during his darker days), Vader and The Undertaker. All of these wrestlers were demonic monsters or dark twisted individuals. Bearers look actually suits the roles of an evil undertaker; he has pale skin amplified by makeup, deep bags under his eyes and an eerie high pitched voice capable of delivering the perfect promos.

Now there is one flaw in the Paul Bearer return angle and that is the fact at the Great American Bash 2004 The Undertaker buried Bearer in a glass crypt full of concrete and attempted to ‘kill him’ apparently Bearer was seriously injured due to the event. In reality he went away for lose lots of weight which was good for him because he looks a lot healthier for it. But I do wonder how storyline wise they cover the whole Concrete crypt situation cause if they do a classic WWE pretend it never happened and moved on it will make the whole situation awful. Although there are lots of our younger fans who probably have no idea what I am talking about as they never followed WWE in 2004. This is a shame because they missed some pretty good times. I recommend that the young fans buy or rent DVDs from the 80s and 90s and the early 00s if they haven’t seen footage from that time. This is something that O’Dea had to do as he was a late to get into WWE.

The Dullest Event of the Summer?

I know It's a strange notion, but whilst spending three weeks in the States I have lost my way with WWE. Sure, I know everything that's happening (mostly) and I get where they're going with all the storylines (seriously, The Great Khali is the best they can do) but I'm missing something and I think WWE is as well, heading into SummerSlam.

I don't see any substance, any real intent heading into this Sunday. For all intensive purposes the Main Event will be The Nexus vs Team WWE/Raw/CeNation in a 7-on-7/6 Elimination Tag Team Match. And all I can say to that is... Meh?! Well think about it, are you seriously telling me that most of these Nexus guys first Real Ring Action after NXT will be at the WWE's Second Biggest PPV of the year. And I understand the beating up everyone in an almost nWo style and gang-battering every moving thing insight, including taking out people who could be replacements.... (sorry, just had to laugh at the fact they thought The Great Khali and Mark Henry were threats, ha! I mean what has Khali been doing recently, beating up Daniel Bryan?)

And the months of build up, with them smashing Bret Hart around a car park to get contracts and hospitising old men cause they couldn't touch anyone under the age of 50 was great, new, fresh and it got people talking, but right now it seems like a lame duck. Even the apparent problems with Team WWE has been cringe worthy to watch, well, when I've bothered to watch them.

Okay, lets take a look at some of the other matches for this Sunday.

The Big Show will go up against CM Punk, Luke Gallows & Joey Mercury (remember him) in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match. Yep, I get the storyline and all, actually it has (I guess) been alright but are you really looking forward to this match? Nope, It'll happen, but there ain't much in this.

Melina returned the other week after a couple of weeks talking to The Fink and Internet Geeks on the WWE Universe Live Chats. I didn't actually watch that Taped Raw when she returned because I already knew everything that was going to happen (boring). But I expect an alright contest between these two; with her return, Melina is now obviously the strongest Diva on Raw and Alicia Fox has really built herself up after splitting for Zack Ryder, so I am looking forward to this match more than expected.

I also saw somewhere that at the SD! Tapings they set up LayCool vs Kelly Kelly & Tiffany, I really hope not and I'm not going to say anything else about that.

The Intercontinental Championship will be up for grabs when Kofi Kingston will "challenge" Dolph Ziggler. I don't know if it's sad that they have great matches on SmackDown, so you can't expect so much more from this match, though I think that I'm being too harsh. Look at this title match last year when Rey Mysterio held onto the belt by defeating Dolph in an mazing match which gave Dolph so much stronger. But also because of Rey Rey, Dolph had to wait nearly another year to get his hands on the prize.

Dolph & Kofi are great athletes and should put on a show-stealer (hopefully).

So the Undertaker Storyline is coming to a head with the World Heavyweight Championship Kane facing off against Rey Mysterio. Well, I, think that, erm... Okay, to be honest I'm looking forward to the match, but the build-up has over-kill written all over it, and I've become disengaged with it.

Like what on earth happened to Kane randomly bringing out the Casket and taking away CM Punk at Fatal-4-Way? And why did Kane stand up for Rey at Money in the Bank (that is if he wasn't going to cash in the contract)?

So the master of the 619 (remember that, cause they're in LA) will, at least I think, will get beaten up, come back slightly and then something supernatural will happen and blah, blah... probably the match might end in a No Contest. And also if this match is very late in the night, something will happen and most likely with return of the deadman. Come on, he's on the promo stuff and WWE went out of their way to take Triple H off that stuff because they knew he'd still be injured at the time.

And Finally we have a rematch from the Royal Rumble, well minus Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. It'll be Randy Orton challenging Sheamus for the WWE Championship. So, what will this encounter bring? I believe, a good solid wrestling match with, I think, Randy stealing the championship with win out of nowhere and possibly a post match beat down from the Celtic Warrior and a Money in a Bank tease cash in from the "awesome one".

Wait a minute, what ever happened to the Rock's Summer stint with the WWE. I mean what a better place and time to return (as Raw GM?), I think it's been long enough for Michael Cole to have his moment's in the sun reading E-Mails.

That's all I'm going to say about that. Sunday will come around soon enough.

Fall From Grace? More Like A Step-Ladder

So the first elimination of NXT Season 2 has come and gone, wait, really?! I didn't even know before the actual live show that there would be an elimination, I could have sworn that it would be the same as season one and just do a poll at the start to see how everyone was getting on. One thing was good about the elimination night was that the WWE Universe got "50%" of the vote, I mean I know that I cast my vote, did you?

It is Titus O'Neil who is the first to leave the new season of NXT. Premature? Yes. I think that he had more to give and wasn't given any time what so ever. I mean, a couple of weeks ago they did a fly-on-the-wall backstage segment with his WWE Pro Zack Ryder having a heart to heart conversation about turning his situation of the opening weeks around, and they had an opportunity, but never followed it up in any sort of serious way, just a fleeting mention on commentary on the next week. Oh yeah, but he did have the worst record between all the rookies; though only 3 matches and 3 losses before being eliminated, he got screwed over, at least people knew who Bryan Danielson was when he got eliminated first and after not winning one match, until the night before he got "eliminated".

I saw him as the sort of Darren Young of season two, the one who is most improved and grows on me the best as time goes on or as Skip Sheffield, you know, the dumb idiot at the start who improves when he starts to warm up to his pro, also has the same sort of steroids, sorry, genetics in him.

I'm glad that Kaval came first, he should be there in his rightful place at the top, I hope it isn't a bad omen of things to come.

Flight recrictions in and out of the UK have now been puched back to 7am BST/2am EST Monday Morning, making it even less likely that the Raw Crew will make it to the Monday Night Tapings 19 Hours Later. Here is the latest from the forecasts of the Cloud around Europe and the Raw Crew seem to be right in the heart of it. Again Belfast is the little red dot:

"wow just one freaking word, WOW… Traveling is sometime easy and sometime hard, but this tour was unbeleivable, its one after an other….and its not done yet, im still in Ireland…not back to New York til a few hours maybe a few days…well the tour was going good, then a volcano in iceland erupted, gosh …… leaving france after the show 3 days ago we had a 3 hrs bus ride, then a ferry for 2 hrs, then a 8 hrs bus ride, then we stop for an hour to relax our legs and stretch, then a 3 hrs bus ride to a ferry for 2 hrs then a 2 hrs bus ride then to the arena for the show…..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not to mentionned that before the show in france that day we did a 6 hrs bus ride …haha then after the show we left and again the same deal, unbeleivable….. my butt was hurting, my back was ohhhhhh, and i had to go pee every 15 mins, ughhh haha, well i went over all the songs in my Itouch probably 25 times, ( i have a lot of songs in my itouch ) lol i never dreamt of sleeping in a bed so bad, today in spa time in ireland, its gonna be great, trying to get myself mentaly ready for whats next, hopefully they will clear the air space soon and we can get a direct flight to New York…..

Even More Bad Updates on Raw Crew Getting Out of Belfast

Again as of this writing, all air travel in UK Airspace including in Belfast where the Raw Crew is, has been totally "shut down" until now the earliest 1AM Sunday Night/Monday Morning and in Ireland that has been extended until Midday Local Time Monday (though Northern Ireland is part of UK, but not definitely in UK airspace). That is also looking like that deadline will be pushed back even further, making it now nearly impossible for the Raw Crew to New Jersey before Monday Night. Smackdown Crew Back in the States, Raw Crew Are Stuck, And it isn't going to get better any time soon

As of this writing, flight restricted on all air travel has been extended until 7:00pm on Sunday Night and is still expected to continue well into next week as the ash cloud hangs over Europe. Though on the other hand, it looks like the Smackdown Crew have made it back to the USA via Madrid and two cancelled events.

Matt Hardy Tweeted:
"Just landed in Newark, NJ after traveling & working for almost 54 HOURS STRAIGHT!! I have NEVER experienced anything close to this! USA USA! Went through a helluva journey with the BLUE Team traveling/working without a bed for well over 2 straight days-so excited 2 shower & sleep!"

Update on WWE Crew & Superstars Stuck in Europe and How They Can Save Monday Night's Taping

Having just done their last tour date with a second night in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the Raw Crew now are going to find it very hard to get back to the States. As of this writing, further restrictions have been enforced until 1:00pm UK Time on Sunday (which is expected to be extended). The Ash Cloud is now covering nearly all of Northern and Eastern Europe, making all air travel impossible. To be perfectly honest, the Smackdown Crew had a lucky break by cancelling two of their shows and heading south from Zurich to Madrid in Spain to fly back to the States.

Some airlines made policy earlier in the week that they would not fly at all until Monday, which seems in hindsight to have been a good desicision as the days go on and as no one is going anywhere fast. People are being told that flights are likely to be cancelled well into next week.

There has been talk that the Smackdown Crew could cover most of the show on Monday and if needed include recorded segments from superstars that are stuck in Europe, because that would not be any problem to work out.

This is just an idea from me, why don't they try and put together a taping here in the UK, my good if they wanted a crowd, have tickets for £5 or something. The O2 Arenas in London and Dublin are not possibilities. The MEN Arena in Manchester, the site for this year's November UK Tapings is free, but not really, they are going from hosting the European Badminton Championships on Sunday to Torvill and Dean's Ice Skating on Thursday. The Sheffield Arena, where WWE had their last set of Tapings in November including Ricky Hatton guest hosting Raw, is free until the 1st May and to get there from Belfast is easy. Like I said, the amount of people attending wouldn't be slack by any means. They could even have half and half, so live goings on with Monday Night Smackdown and then the Raw guys in taped Matches and Bits back in Europe. Anyway that's just my idea.

WWE Raw Crew Struggling to Make It Back to the States for Monday Night

I knew this would happen, thanks to the Ash Cloud over Europe the WWE Raw Crew is going to have problems getting back to the USA for Monday. Raw will do their second straight show in Belfast, Northern Ireland tonight. All flights in and out of the UK/NI are being cancelled or restricted until at least 7am Sunday Morning and things aren't looking any better. The Smackdown Crew flew out of Madrid earlier in the week after driving down from Zurich and cancelling two events in Eastern Europe.
This Photo below, via BBC News Website, shows the area that the ash cloud is estimated to cover at certain times. It looks like that by Sunday Morning and the time that the WWE will want to fly out by, Belfast (red dot) will again be covered by thee ash cloud, not good news for them and the millions others (including my Dad) who can get anywhere in, out or aaround most of Europe.

Having re-watched Wrestlemania XXII and it reminded me off one thing, Kurt Angle is one of the best wrestlers in the World. It also reminded me off January 2006 to May 2006 in which Kurt Angle successful wrestled in the ‘no gimmick necessary’ role, something that most people can’t pull off, just ask Daniel Bryan. In fact most people can do the opposite wrestle with a great gimmick but sometime lacking masses of talent, for example Hulk Hogan, The Rock and John Cena.

The match at Mania itself was a different sort of triple threat it wasn’t a match in which all 3 guys hated each other and it wasn’t a match where all three guys hated each other but two guys hate the third guy slightly more and most importantly it was not a triple threat match in which two guys loved each other and just beat the living day lights out of the third. It was a triple threat based around Rey and Randy’s somewhat horrible feud, in which Randy bated Rey to give up his number 1 contenders status by disrespecting Eddie Guerrero’s memory by suggesting that Eddie was in Hell, something that I think most wrestling fans went too far. Although the entire exploitation of Eddie death that continued for a year or so was horrid. But added to that was Kurt Angle the World Champion, who couldn’t care less about Rey and Randy’s issue he only cared about being champ and although he lost the match (Randy was pinned) he put on a show on how to wrestle. He won the match twice (forced Rey and Randy to submit, but the ref was distracted) which furthered added to his dominance as champion. Kurt Angle unfortunately was vary beige for me during his time in WWE because I was less mature then (which still meant I was more mature than half my school, still am) but I could appreciate the talent he had but I do now.

The other match during this time period that really sticks in my mind is in the top ten in my personal favourite matches (an ever changing list that has very few permanent members but this is one of them.) The match was The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle at No Way Out 2006. The match had a controversial finish and did not have much storyline although not much was needed. I will admit that until now when I revaluated the match and the finish did I realise that actually the way the match finished made both Kurt and Taker look huge. This was because by the match ending in a manner in which it was controversial, it suggested that both Angle and Taker were equal and at the time it was clear that Kurt Angle was the top man with regards to talent in the industry and Taker has been the one of the best men with regards to character and talent combined for years so to suggest that two were equal was a big sign from WWE that at the time I missed, whereas now I realise that if you are looking at someone to be a leader in wrestling you have to look at HBK and Taker if you are looking at someone who is both talented and good with regards to charisma and character. You have to look at Cena or the Rock for someone heavy on charisma and character but lacking in talent and if you are looking on pure wrestling talent alone the Kurt Angle is your yard stick without question.

This article however cannot end on a positive. I was very sad when Kurt left WWE the way he did. Now Kurt is wrestling at TNA, now my opinion on TNA get worse by the day. Mainly due to, crap booking ala Vince Russo (I am not suggesting taking a Jim Cornette approach to Russo but he sucks!) Also unprotected chair shots to the head are inexcusable and I have ranted on the facebook page about it! I could never watch TNA ever! But the reason why this is a sad end is that Kurt Angle Olympic gold medallist is having to wrestle in a ladder match (singular) for a key to a cage whilst he is in a storyline against Mr. Anderson and Kurt want to kill each other so why would they want to unlock the door and run? (By the way, if you don’t understand the last paragraph or what it is trying to explain don’t worry because no one does, probably not even Vince Russo who wrote it) putting his body and his surgically repaired neck on the line for next to nothing. It proves to me that TNA don’t care about their talent with the exception of perhaps Hogan. Also it is a shame that Kurt’s marriage broke down so publically and that he had a public issue with a Knockout that lead to a public incident and there was some talk of a restraining order on Kurt.

Overall Kurt was and still is one of the best in the world of wrestling and I hope that he manages to return to WWE and its Wellness Policy (for TNA fans out there who might not know what that is, it is when a company gives a dam about its talent!) Kurt Angle should be a future WWE Hall of Famer regardless and I hope that he manages to save himself before he becomes another who leaves this world before his time.

The Miz, awesome really?

In 2004 a skinny kid with minimal talent reality TV star was defeated by Daniel Puder in a Dixie Dog Fight at Armageddon 2004. He was then defeated in the competition by Daniel Puder. Puder competed in his second Pay Per View a month later in the Royal Rumble Match. He then spent around 8 months in OVW before leaving the company. When he left OVW there was some tension between Puder and Kenny Bolin after Puder left due to a statement made by Puder. The skinny kid on the other hand stuck around in DSW (Deep South Wrestling) and then to OVW. Finally In 2007 this kid debut on WWE Smackdown. The name of that kid Mike Mizanin although you would probably know him know was The Miz.

On Smackdown The Miz served as the host of Smackdown and eventually he went on to host the Diva Search. This meant he was on both RAW and Smackdown and to be honest he might have been the Miz but he was... awful! The WWE did what was best after this, moved him to ECW, the reason for this is because well not many people watched ECW and the Miz could learn his craft without too much criticism. Then Cyber Sunday 2007 came around The Miz beat John Morrison and Big Daddy V in a vote to take on CM Punk for the ECW Championship. I don’t know why the WWE Universe voted for Miz but I know that I voted for him as I thought he would be the easiest for Punk to beat. In this match the Miz showed how much he had developed and this skinny kid with marginal talent had arrived as a rookie superstar in the WWE.

On November 16th 2007 MVP and Matt Hardy were defeated by arguably one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history John Morrison and his new tag team partner The Miz. In February 2008 the Dirt Sheet (man, that name seems familiar) was created, this was the only WWE online show I watched. This show made it clear that although sophomoric and sometime childish The Miz and Morrison had great promo skills and charisma. The Miz remained one of the dominant teams in the WWE with or without the title belts until April 13th on Monday night RAW. During this time the Miz went from being a rookie to a full fledged WWE superstar. On April 13th the annual WWE draft took place. The Miz took on Kofi Kingston in a one on one match. During the matches John Morrison interfered and The Miz lost the match by disqualification. The draft pick was made and The Miz was moved to RAW. The Miz and Morrison had finally split up, they shared an embrace and the John Morrison got a Reality Check. JoMo took one small step to being a face and The Miz took one giant leap to being a heel. The Miz decided from that point on to challenge John Cena to a match (Cena was injured at the time.) The Miz claimed a victory via forfeit. For the next few weeks the Miz went on to be 5-0 against Cena. But The Miz lost to Cena at the Great American Bash and then on RAW to ban The Miz from ‘Summerfest’ sorry Summerslam. The Miz went 5-2 against John Cena. The final stage of The Miz’s evolution was complete when the ‘Calgary Kid’ was unveiled as The Miz with his new trunk and all. As much as the Miz’s old attire was great his new wrestling gear, made him look more professional but also helped him become Awesome. The Miz new trunks and new finishing move ‘Skull Crushing Finale’ issued a challenge for the US title. The Miz failed at 3 PPVs to win the title Night of Champions, Breaking Point and Hell in a Cell. Ben Roethlisberger made Miz and offer the night after Hell in a Cell, win the US title from Kofi or admit that he was awful. The Miz who’s character hinged on him winning a title at this point to keep I credible did just that and became the United States Champion, winning his first singles title in the WWE. The Miz went on to defeated John Morrison on Bragging Rights and Team Miz beat Team Morrison at Survivors Series perhaps suggesting that The Miz was the dominant partner. A claim echoed by Jack Swagger on the 9th April on Smackdown when he claimed Morrison lived in ‘the shadow of the Miz.’ It seems that whilst The Miz is on the rise JoMo’s career seems to have stagnated since the split, but he is on the verge of being a main eventer and has been for years, he just needs a push, but this is a topic which could have an article all by itself. The Miz then defended his title against MVP in a series of excellent matches. During this time The Miz capitalised on the splitting of JeriShow and forming an alliance with The Big Show in a team known as ShoMiz. This team captured the unified tag team championship from DX on February 8th, making the Miz the first person in WWE history to hold 3 titles at the same time (the US title, World Tag Team Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championships.) ShoMiz defended the tag team titles at Wrestlemania XXVI. Now ShoMiz look to be feuding with Bret Hart and the Hart Dynasty. On RAW in the UK on the 12th The Miz defeated David Hart Smith in a match where the stipulation was if D.H. Smith won the Hart Dynasty would receive a title shot at Extreme Rules but if the Miz won Bret Hart would have to declare that ShoMiz was the best tag team in WWE history on RAW the next week.

Despite Daniel Bryan knocking the Miz for not having enough experience to be his pro, I think Bryan is stuck in a bit of a Time Warp (and not the cool Rocky Horror dance!) Whether it is a kayfabe or legit beef I think it is rooted in jealousy. I think Bryan either as a character or his personal opinion I think Bryan is jealous of the fact Miz became a star in the WWE without spending 10 years on the indies like Bryan had to. But the fact that the Miz is a NXT pro suggests that WWE like him because it shows they want him in lots of shows exposed to lots of crowds. Personally I think that Bryan should have been paired with Regal and Otunga should have been paired with Miz. The reason for this is that Regal and Bryan could have been snobby towards the Miz and Otunga and Miz could have been a great heel pairing.

The Sun newspaper described The Miz as ‘the most entertaining act on WWE Raw.’ A statement which if made at his debut or even predicted at the time of his debut would have been laughable. But The Miz truly is a WWE superstar, I would perhaps suggest a future WWE Champion and if he continues on this path at this speed I see no reason why the Miz cannot be a future WWE Hall of Famer, because he is the Miz and he IS AWESOME!

Merchandise Review: Tagged Classic DVD King of the Ring 2001 and Invasion 2001

This was something that started in the fledgling days of the Dirt Sheet HD and it never took off, but I have lots of books, DVDs and I have a good eye for WWE fashion and will look try to review as much as my time will allow.

Firstly I will point out that this DVD set was bought from www.silvervision.co.uk which is where I get most of my WWE DVDs from because they are often cheaper, are released earlier and the delivery is amazing time wise and price (free.)

Well the best thing about the WWE tagged classics is that for some reason the 'WWF' logo is allowed to be used, I believe it has something to do with the fact they have been previously released but don't quote me on that. This means unlike lots of pre-lawsuit DVDs there is not loads of blurring over the screen, which improves the view quality.

The first thing about both these PPVs is that the commentary is by Paul Heyman and Jim Ross, this is because The King had quit because his wife was released. Jr and Heyman had a kayfabe rivalry and this is reflected in their comments. But it really does set the matches up well. Heyman is a heel ECW commentator and part of the Alliance, whereas Ross is WWF/E through and through. This is just adds to the quality of the matches.

Now lets look at the PPVs on the DVD King of the Ring 2001. The King of the Ring tournament matches were good matches but they were nothing compared the two main event matches in my opinion which were the Street Fight and the triple threat main event. The street fight was brutal and included three spots which defy description, I won't tell you what they are but I will say that they are a must see. The rest of the card is good but, I have to say that it was a solid event, worth watching.

The Invasion PPV was an interesting concept and it contained some amazing matches. Awesome and Storm vs. Edge and Christian was an amazing tag team match and set the tone of the card brilliantly. The ref matches was interesting but again well worth watching. The next 5 matches on the card were average but they are merely fillers for the next amazing match. Jeff Hardy vs, RVD for the Hardcore title, again I will not give away details but I will say that the matches was amazing but not your conventional hardcore match. But what it is, is amazing. The Bra and Panties match was as you would expect it to be and although I could go on a offer a long review go into to a technical review I won't. The Main Event was the Inaugural Brawl match, this featured Booker T, DDP, Rhyno and the Dudley Boyz taking on Kurt Angle, Y2J, Austin, Kane and Undertaker. On paper the WWE team looks a lot stronger but in practice the sides are very balanced and the match itself is amazing. This PPV really sets the tone and is a must for any WWE fan.

The Special features on each disk are great, there are interviews with Kurt and Shane about their epic contest. Also there is an interview with RVD about his hardcore match with Jeff Hardy. There are also post match interviews from Invasion which offer good kayfabe insight.

Overall I would say that these DVDs are a must for all WWE fans and wrestling fans in general.I would say that Silvervision's tagged classics are amazing and you will probably see lots of reviews for them one way or another because lots of the DVDs I owe have been released has tagged classic although I own them in other formats.

4/5 stars the reason for this is that the concept of two pay per views for the price of one is great and the matches themselves are good, but the minimal amount special features let it down.

WWE Pay-Per-View Schedule is Messed Up

There has been a lot of coverage on the forever changing WWE Pay-Per-View Schedule and Names over the last couple of years. So I thought I should take another look at this subject and I noticed some fatal flaws about the schedule, considering they are trying to spread out the PPVs during the summer, which was a criticism of WWE last year.

The first PPV after Wrestlemania as you might well know is Extreme Rules, in place of a long tradition of Backlash. Extreme Rules will take place on Sunday 25th April, 4 weeks after Wrestlemania. Four weeks later on 23rd May is a new PPV, WWE Over the Limit. At this moment in time, there has been no indication what, if any, gimmick this Pay-Per-View has.

Another four weeks later, on June 20th is the second in a line of new PPVs, the stupidly named, Fatal Four Way. That isn't an event name, that is a match type and to be honest I don't think that WWE storylines are deep enough to end up in matches where there are four people, in every main event, let alone every match on the card.

The third in this line of new PPVs is Money in the Bank, which will take place on the 18th of July. God knows how this will work. Well, maybe I'm being too negative here, I think I've learnt, over time, that in most things you just have to trust Vince and the WWE's judgement, they know what they're doing, but, erm.... I'm not sure if it will come off as dandy as they'd like.

Four weeks later, the biggest event of the Summer will yet again return to the STAPLES Centre in LA. Yes SummerSlam, which will take place on the 15th of August. Then Five weeks later we will see the return Night of Champions (or Vengeance), in place of last year's Breaking Point, which I still think of the Unforgiven September PPV slot.

Though this is where WWE mess up their scheduling, we see the return of the somewhat flawed, yet successful Hell in a Cell PPV, but it comes on the 3rd of October, only two weeks after NoC. That just seems stupid to me. And then only 3 weeks following that on October 24th we will see another return, of the now obviously annual, WWE Bragging Rights. I swear that they still use that trophy in Teddy Long's GM Office.

I mean it'll become more obvious to someone closer to the time, but that's just stupid. For anyone that wants to know, I got all the dates from WWE.com PPV Calender which is the most up-to-date thing they have on the website. Also wouldn't you want to have more time before the SummerSlam, to build up the feuds, considering it's meant to be their second biggest PPV. I remember reading an interview with John Cena, I think, where he said that his match with Batista at SS 08 would have been way bigger if they had been given more time to build up to it, more the time scale of the Wrestlemania build-up.

Anyway which way you look at it WWE have messed up, and that's even before slagging them off for the Pay-Per-View concepts themselves. And I'd also like to send the best of luck to Methos who "feel down the stairs" and hurt his ankle, which seems to be ligament damage and 5-6 weeks of no exercise.

The Young Lion vs the King of the Pride

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Or should it be, It’s not who you are but who you know? Either way, this is an interesting affair, in and out of the ring. Of course people of the internet have put the rocketing of Sheamus to the top of the company down to Triple H; that might be true or not, oh I forget he’s the son-in-law. Sheamus is in my view a worthy opponent for The Game. It’s just interesting that The Celtic Warrior is the lowest profile match the King of Kings has been in for ages, lets count the ways:

This is his first truly low-ish key match since Wrestlemania XV when he faced Kane (5th to Last Match). So Please Savour this moment... And It’s Over. I’m not doubting the match at all, I hope we see a master class from the Game, because no matter how much you ridicule him and call him boring, he knows how to deliver and if the rumours are true, he is the hardest working wrestler out there (probably second to John Cena).

Then we have Sheamus, debuting on the grandest stage of them all tonight. Who is different, it is safe to say we’ve never seen anyone like him in WWE before. Is this good? Yes. And will this be a good match tonight? Yes! And even looking back on the build-up to this match, it has actually been better than I first thought.
Strangely, even though HHH would hate it, I would be looking out for an Irish hand to be held high at the end of the match, but hey, what do I know?

‘Ain’t no grave can hold my body down’

All good things must come to an end, or do they? Johnny Cash seems to suggest in his song otherwise. But is this song in this instances referring to Shawn Michaels’ career not ending at Wrestlemania XXVI or, is it suggesting that The Undertaker will never lose at Wrestlemania? Can you have too much of a good thing? Will darkness conquer light again? Will the career of Shawn Michaels be ended by The Undertaker or will The Undertaker’s 17-0 undefeated streak at Wrestlemania finally be ended by Mr. Wrestlemania, The Showstopper the Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels?

These two future WWE Hall of Famers have had many epic encounters with each other during their careers. The first and some argue the best Hell in a Cell match at Badd Blood: In Your House 1997, in which Shawn Michaels defeated The Undertaker with an assist from Kane. To the Casket Match at the Royal Rumble 1998 in which HBK suffered a legitimate back injury that took him out of WWE as an in ring competitor until 2002. The same match in which Undertaker was buried in a casket which was later set on fire by Kane and Paul Bearer (there seems to be a pattern here between Taker losing and Kane being involved watch this space tonight.) From that point on the feud lay dormant until Royal Rumble 2007 when The Undertaker for the first time in his career won the Royal Rumble from the number 30 spot (the first time that to had ever happened) eliminating none other than Shawn Michaels last. During the build up to Wrestlemania the champion and contenders from RAW and Smackdown met in a tag team contest at No Way Out, The Undertaker and HBK locked horns in that match however the main twist was Batista and Undertakers feud rather than HBK and The Demon of Death Valley’s. Once again the two men allowed the differences to simmer on the back burner whilst other priorities were moved to the forefront. For HBK it was D-Generation X whereas for The Undertaker it was claiming the World Heavyweight Championship which he did 3 times.

Two years later at Royal Rumble 2009 these men’s paths would cross and this time it would spark a chain of events that would bring us to today, tonight and perhaps the biggest match in Wrestlemania history. ‘Sometimes it is Hell getting to Heaven!’ one simple line, one simple phrase, which led to what may considered the greatest match in WWE history HBK vs. The Undertaker Wrestlemania XXV, as you can tell by the fact this year’s contest is career vs. Streak that Undertaker beat HBK at WMXXV, something that didn’t sit well with Shawn. So at the 2009 Slammys HBK issued a challenge to then World Heavyweight Champion the Undertaker who turned Shawn down. So what did HBK do? Did he just accept the rejection and move on? No, he begged and pleaded for Teddy Long to let him into the Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight Championship, his logic being that he was going to slay the beast that Undertaker and then offer him a title rematch at Wrestlemania XXVI. Teddy refused and got some Sweet Chin Music for his troubles. Shawn then snuck into the Elimination chamber unofficially and cost the Undertaker the match. Knowing full well that The Undertaker would never let such an event pass without seeking retribution, so it came to pass Shawn issued the challenge once again and this time The Undertaker accepted on one condition Shawn Michaels put his career on the line.

This year’s contest unlike the match at Wrestlemania XXV will be a no disqualification, no count out match. This stipulation was added a few weeks after the match itself was decided. On the face of it this would seem to make very little difference but, if it is taken in to consideration that at Wrestlemania XXV HBK was one second away from a count out victory after ‘that’ suicide dive. Also HBK is no stranger to shall we say bending the rules and this could mean he has some advantage going into tonight’s match. But the Undertaker is no stranger to bending the rules.

If tonight’s match has anything to do with statistics then HBK looks almost destine to lose. His Wrestlemania record is 6 (5 as a singles competitor and 1 as part of the Rockers) wins to 10 loses at Wrestlemania. Even if you look at Shawn performances in the majority of those matches he still comes out second best and at Wrestlemania XXVI Shawn can fight his heart out but if he does not secure a 123 or a submission he will have to retire. Paradoxically the Undertaker is 17-0 at Wrestlemania and much like HBK the majority of his performances have been of a high calibre. The exception to the rule is perhaps his contest at Wrestlemania IX in which he beat the Giant Gonzalez by disqualification (up until Wrestlemania XXIV which was won by submission) was the only time that The Undertaker had won a match at Wrestlemania by anything other than pin fall.

This year is a first for the streak; it is the first time that the Undertaker has fought the same opponent consecutively. In fact Taker has only fought the same person at Wrestlemania twice before tonight and that was? You guessed it, Kane, who seems to keep popping up in the careers of Undertaker and HBK. HBK put forward the idea that this was the case for one simple reason Taker knows how close HBK came last year and now he wants to get rid of him for good. Which sounds like a good theory but if The Undertaker knew how close HBK came why would he accept another Wrestlemania match with him? Why not take an easier option? Perhaps the real reasons why Taker is taking on Michaels again is to finish what he started in 1998 and end HBK’s career, or even finish the job from last year in which the Undertaker claimed HBK’s soul maybe this year Taker will take the rest? The truth is that there is not one (kayfabe) reasons as to why Taker and Shawn are locking up again, but to be honest does there need to be? Not really, as a former WWE commentator use to say before major ‘This is going to be off the chain!’

When looking at this match a key feature will be the differing styles used by each competitor. The Undertaker will no doubt have the power advantage over HBK. This will be shown through moves like the Chokeslam which Taker has utilise on many occasions to good effect but I just don’t see it being the move that is going to put HBK away tonight. Also one of the more devastating moves in Taker’s arsenal based around power is the Last Ride Powerbomb, which was used to great affected against HBK last year at Wrestlemania XXV, however, much like the Chokeslam I don’t think the Last Ride will be Taker’s weapon of choice for tonight’s contest. I believe one of the firm favourites to be the last move of the match tonight is The Tombstone Piledriver a move that few men have kicked out of. A move that is so dangerous only a handful of Superstars are trusted in the WWE to perform it. The move that eventually put HBK away last year could perhaps do the same this year. Other power moves in Taker’s arsenal expected to be seen tonight to deliver damage to HBK are Snake Eyes which is usually followed by a running boot to the face. Also one of the biggest features of Undertaker’s offense which might be over looked but after a gruelling contest some of Undertaker’s straight right hands could be the difference maker. Who can forget when Taker threw Mick Foley off and through the Hell in a Cell? Foley himself later said neither fall knocked him out it was in fact one of Taker’s punch’s that did the damage. Also Batista when reflecting on his Wrestlemania match with Undertaker talked on how one of Taker’s caused him to suffer an injury to his face.

Taker might have the Power advantage but HBK has the speed advantage, at has been demonstrated many times before Taker’s big shots are no good if he can’t land them. However, as the match wears on HBK’s speed begins to diminish, that is when HBK’s finishing move, Sweet Chin Music, can be utilised to its maximum effect. The move can virtually be hit from any position and as JR would say is ‘quicker than a hiccup’ and if HBK can hit that then maybe Taker’s streak will be over. Also HBK has the use of the flying forearm and flying elbow moves that have helped him win on many occasion, but with the flying elbow it is very high risk and the chances of succeeding are just as high a failing, especially if HBK introduces a ladder into tonight’s match something that could happen there might be some lying around after MitB. The Undertaker may not be as quick as HBK but he has shown himself to be as agile, Taker’s suicide dive is one of if not the best in the business and it has become a Wrestlemania tradition so the question will more be when then if he is going to hit it. Also an often forgotten move of the Undertaker’s is the running DDT a move that sounds very mundane but when delivered could be the ending of Shawn Michaels.

Both men in this match are well versed in submission holds and I would not be surprised if many were attempted if not locked in by both men. The Undertaker’s signature submission hold at this moment of time is the Hell’s Gate. A move that was once banned by Vickie Guerrero for being ‘too dangerous’ has been reinstated after modified to make it more effective and a legal hold, also a move very few people have escaped from HBK being one of them. However, in the past the Undertaker has been known to use many other submission holds. Examples of these are the Triangle Choke and the Standing Dragon Sleeper or as it was known when Taker used it as ‘Takin’ Care of Business.’ All of the above holds are devastating when applied and could be used to wear down if not defeat an opponent. Shawn Michaels is also well versed in submission holds, however his preferred holds are the Figure of Four Leglock and Inverted Figure of Four Leglock, the Sharpshooter and the Crippler Crossface. During tonight’s contest I would not be surprised if HBK did not attempted to war down the legs of The Undertaker to make the 2 variations of the Figure of Four more effective. Likewise HBK might looks to reverse the Chokeslam into a Crossface as an attempted to wear down The Undertaker and take out his power game. Although I highly doubt that this contest will end via submission as I cannot remember The Undertaker ever giving up (except at Montreal Screwjob 4 which to be perfectly honest I don’t really count unless I am trying to big up CM Punk) and I don’t see Shawn Michaels ending his career by tapping out.

Time, is always an important factor when it come to wrestling. Last year HBK and Undertaker were given just over 30 minutes which was the longest match on the card. This I feel should be replicated this year however I think the match should go for about 45-60 minutes. The reason for this is that this match is probably going to be one of the emotional matches in WWE history and regardless of the winner I would say that there will be very few dry eyes in the WWE Universe. However is also feel that the match should not close the show. This would show disrespect to Ric Flair who had a retirement match at Wrestlemania XXIV. Despite the fact that Ric went back to work a decision that he could do very little about due to his financial situation, a decision that Flair ‘checked’ through with Michaels before taking, it still needs to be respected. Also I think that the Royal Rumble winner’s match should be the last match on the card because that is a tradition in WWE that has lasted a long time and when it has not been adhered to the PPV has felt slightly abnormal for example Wrestlemania 23 felt weird with HBK vs. Cena closing the show rather that The Undertaker vs. Batista even more so because Undertaker that year eliminated HBK last from the Rumble.

Jim Ross, respected WWE Commentator and owner of a two Bar-B-Q stores in Oklahoma on his website www.jrsbarbq.com/ he has said many times that he cannot see The Undertaker’s streak being ended. A view which many people have held for many years myself included. HHH on RAW says that he ‘knows’ that HBK can beat The Undertaker and some people have taken this to mean that somehow Triple H is going to get involved and cost HBK the match. I however, do not feel that an event of this magnitude will not have a clean finish one way or the other. Also in many interviews recently HBK has been talking a lot recently about hanging up his boots and spending time with his family. He also addressed the fact that this was increasingly becoming the case after turning towards religion that has made him feel this way. Could this be a sign for tonights out come? Not really as Vince is a clever man and he wants to sell PPVs in fact WWE has predicted this Wrestlemania could make them the most money in WWE history and the best way to sell this PPV is to make people think they could see something amazing or for the last time and unlike with Ric Flair were the writing was clearly on the wall, with HBK every year is rumoured to retire this is why people might treat this with suspicion.

The aspect of this match that might be forgotten is the commentary team. In an ideal World my commentary team would be Jim Ross, King and Matt Striker. Also I would love to see maybe Mick Foley, Jesse Ventura or JBL along with JR and King on the commentary team but again that would be impossible. So if we assume that WWE will go with a three man team of Michael ‘I hate the internet’ Cole Jerry ‘The King Lawler’ and Matt Striker, you have to look at what that adds to the match. You might be reading the now thinking who cares? But the commentary team on a match can be huge on the storytelling front. JR’s catchphrases and expressions made good moment’s great and great moment unbelievable and no offense to Cole but Vintage is not quite ‘Boomer Sooner’ or ‘Business is pickin’ up!’ Jerry Lawler does not prep and yet I wouldn’t want for him not to be calling the show he is such an amazing commentator despite his occasional risqué joke. Matt Striker average wrestler top commentator. His performance as a slight heel is amazing as shown at TLC when Sheamus beat John Cena, Striker’s commentary after that moment was a Dirt Sheet HD favourite moment. His style of commentary could lend itself perfectly to this sort of match I have the feeling he will be heelish during the match and then after the match he will play it sensitively but to the point. Cole and King will be the consummate professionals and they will call it perfectly. Although JR is in Arizona and has been claiming he is not calling the show, but WWE have often done things like that and in the past JR has been called into just one match and I am hoping that this is the case even if Matt Striker has to be dropped for that to happen.

The last aspect I want to look at in this match is the entrances of the Superstars. I have the feeling that there is going to be something special going on but I have no idea what. I felt that last year’s entrance for The Undertaker was poor to say the least. It was a Gangrel rip off and also it was not what we have come to expect from The Undertaker, I wanted to see druids! Also it would be a huge surprise but a nice one if WWE could get Paul Bearer and Jose Lothario to come to the ring with their respective former mentees. What however HBK and Taker come even if it is conventionally (Druids are a must however for the Undertaker) it is going to be special as it could very well be the last time.

This match is going to be amazing. This match is going to be everything it should be and more. I am a massive Undertaker fan and yet part of me a small part of me wants HBK to win because HBK can have a great match with anyone and I mean anyone. But at the same time The Undertaker’s streak is special I would suggest that no one will ever match it and certainly not beat it, in fact I doubt anyone will be able to get near it. This is one of the few matches were I have no clear favourite in my mind, every time I think about it I have a different outcome. This will be one of a handful of matches where I will sit down not as a blogger/writer, not as a wrestling historian and not as a Smark. I will sit down and watch this match as a WWE Fan, as a wrestling fan and as a wrestling fan!

Wrestlemania XXVI Preview: CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio

Happy Birthday

Never before has such a happy moment seemed so eerie. “Happy Birthday” normally a song filled with love and happiness was usurped and made to be a battle cry of rage and hate of the Straight Edge Society. I mean what’s not to like about this match? CM Punk is one of the most solid performers and evil characters in the WWE right now. He has a massive loathing and hatred behind him and the fact he is picking on Rey, who is one of the most beloved superstars in wrestling right now, and his family means that Punk stock only goes up further.

I’m sorry to say but that girl was crying like CM Punk was the Grim Reaper, pure evil. I really hope that Rey’s Family will be there, backstage or otherwise, just so there can be a bit more Punk-Mysterio Family Interaction. And let’s not forget that if Rey loses he has to join the Straight Edge Society. I mean on the surface you wouldn’t see that happening, but I’ve been thinking recently and been listening to people more in the know than me, who are saying that it’s more viable that Punk walks out of the University of Phoenix Stadium with the win.

“But they wouldn’t let Rey lose, he needs revenge, I mean he’s the fan favourite. You’ll break all the little kids’ hearts”

Stop right there, surely that is exactly what this feud has been about, why not do it again. I mean that would be a kid’s worst nightmare, seeing their hero, their Rey Rey made to follow in CM Punk’s Straight Edge footsteps. And if they have a feud going through summer, which I really hope is the case, it’ll add a fantastic dimension, i.e. with Rey trying to escape from the group, failing up to, say, Summerslam at the Staples Centre, LA in August.

These two have never really fought each other before now, one exception I can remember was at Armageddon 2008 when CM Punk beat Rey to become the #1 Contender for William Regal’s IC Title; Punk nearly broke Mysterio’s nose that time. These two are great athletes, performers and entertainers which will leave it all in the ring tonight. For me this is the dark horse of the night, obviously won’t steal the show thanks to HBK-Taker, but they will give us our money’s worth and get a pay check they deserve. Also look for the SES to do some great work outside the ring.

Wrestlemania XXVI Preview: Money in the Bank Ladder Match

‘I look up to the sky and now the World is mine’

A line from this year’s Wrestlemania theme ‘I made it’ and I think it quite aptly describes the Money in the Bank ladder match. A briefcase hangs above the ring and the first person retrieves it get a title match at any time from the moment they unhook it till Wrestlemania the next year. Every person that has cashed in MitB has won one of the World titles (however as we all know not everyone who won money in the bank went onto cash it in. Mr Kennedy won the briefcase but lost it to Edge who went on to cash it in.

Anyway that is enough of history lesson now it is time to look forward to tonight’s MitB match. 10 men are all vying for the briefcase. How do they rate? Well let’s take a DSHD look at what we think their chances are. The two number factors are chances of winning in our opinion, which seems pretty obvious and entertainment factor which is basically how many spills/ big spots they will be involved in or just how much will their involvement be remember. So for example at Wrestlemania XXV Mark Henry would score relatively high although not taking many big bumps he was involved with the ‘Tadpole Splash moment’ The Kofi ladder moment and the parting of the Ladders with Kane.

Christian
Captain Charisma making his Wrestlemania return and just like his last Wrestlemania with WWE he is in the MitB money match. The big difference is that this year lots of people have him down as the favourite to win. A former ‘WWEECW’ (thanks for that one Joey Styles) champion and a ladder match specialist it would seem that he has all the advantages going into this match. However, the only time Christian has headlined a company was TNA and would Vince trust him to be able to headline Smackdown or RAW as WWE or WHC? It is hard to tell also it seems that Vince is increasingly about developing new talent which is why the US, one half of the tag team titles, Women championship and Divas championship are all held by rising stars in the WWE as well as the fact that up until Elimination Chamber Sheamus was the WWE Champion and MitB has often been a match to give either a young star his break CM Punk and Mr. Kennedy even if he got injured and lost his chance, but paradoxically it has been used to give a veteran his break for example Edge and RVD all one the big prize for the first time after winning MitB.

Dolph Ziggler
You can’t stop perfection? Well, really? I have to disagree. Ziggler sort of disappeared last summer after his feud with Rey and to be honest he resurfaced at the Royal Rumble as number one again ruining one of my predictions and since then he has been back on the scene with his new move the Sleeper hold, which he has been utilising with to good effect. But I just don’t see him winning MitB because he has not been given a consistent push and I have a horrible feeling he could disappear after Wrestlemania or float around like Shelton until the next MitB or Royal Rumble or a similar event. But I could see Ziggler hitting the Zig Zag off a ladder or something tonight and having a few good spots.

Drew McIntyre
The Chairman’s choice, the current intercontinental and with only one lost to his name (sort of) looks destine for great things. But is he destined to win MitB? Perhaps, but it would be a long shot. The Scotsman is making his Wrestlemania debut this year’s as the extra 9th man to the MitB, which in itself suggests that he is not top on the list for people to win. As well as that as a current champion giving him the MitB would I feel be too much too young for this Superstar, who lacks the charisma and in my opinion the talent that someone like the Miz, has can and is currently pulling off holding two titles. But in a year or so I have a feeling I could be writing about MitB and Drew McIntyre could be the odds on favourite. Also with regards to his entertainment factor Drew is neither a powerhouse nor a high flyer and I feel he could get a bit lost in a ladder match with this many men.

Evan Bourne
If I had to pick a winner based solely on personal opinion then Evan would be up there in the top two. He has bags of talent and when he is given the chance to speak he seem quite charismatic. The problem is WWE don’t seem to know how to use him properly, they don’t have a heel cruiserweight that has the same highflying ability to put him up against and it seems they don’t like Evan doing a David vs. Goliath sort of victory over the bigger competitors. So at the moment Evan is stuck in no man’s land and I really don’t see WWE even consider giving him a title match but what I do see is him stealing the show in the MitB tonight and showing everyone how to go Air Bourne properly.

Jack Swagger
The All American American is the person I want to win and it is not wholly unlikely but I would say that if he did win it would be a big surprise. The former ECW champion was teased as having a feud with Cena when he helped Mr. McMahon the other week (walking to the ring in somewhat comical fashion) likewise in the past when Cena and Swagger have locked horns it has been an epic contest between the two superstars and if they were allowed to go at it again it could really make Swagger’s career much like The Miz. Also it would seem that Cena or a RAW superstar has to win the WWE championship match because technically Batista is a Smackdown Superstar and both titles cannot be on the same brand. Could it be Swagger? Maybe but either way I think this athletic Oklahoman could be quite entertaining in MitB regardless of the outcome.

Kane
The Big Red Monster the only former WWE/WHC champion in this match. He has Wrestlemania and Money in the Bank experience which might give him an edge in tonight’s match. Also he came ridiculously close at winning MitB at Wrestlemania XXV which could drive him forward at Wrestlemania XXVI also the man that knocked him off the ladder is not in the match so could this mean it will be Kane’s year? Probably not, WWE seem not to want to give Kane a World title or any title for that matter and I just don’t see MitB making a difference this year but who knows, I have been wrong before?

Kofi Kingston
The Ghanaian Buzzsaw was Jamaican in the last MitB that is not particularly relevant on the face of it but actually after reverting back to his actually nationality and ditching the Jamaican accent Kofi actually was given a main event push against Randy Orton and look destined for great things. Then that push sort of died for some unknown reasons and Kofi went into the grey area between mid-carder and main eventer. But also like Swagger during the Mr. McMahon vs. John Cena match it was teased that Kofi could be feuding with Batista in the future. However, Kofi’s ability to bust people open all the time seemingly by accident could put him in lots of people’s bad books a prevent him winning MitB or getting the final push fully into main event status, this seems pretty clear since he was the 10th man to qualify for a 8 man match.

Matt Hardy
After a up and down 2009 Matt Hardy has vowed to reinvent himself and set the record straight in 2010 and MitB could be his way of doing just that. A bit of a dark horse and sort of forgotten in the run up to MitB because of NXT, but do not let this fool you Matt Hardy could surprise everyone and finally climb to the same heights as his brother Jeff (no pun intended.) The only drawback is that Matt Hardy has always been second fiddle to Jeff and whenever I look at Matt Hardy I always put him as the second brother. He is a very gifted and talented wrestler but he seems to be never quite reach the level needed to be WWE/WHC champion. But perhaps he can win MitB and shake off the shackles of his brother’s legacy and finally reach the top of the food chain.

Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP)
One half of the World’s Strongest Tag Team (he is the half with the talent and Charisma) MVP has always been a consistently good performer and his Wrestlemania matches are very good. Who can forget his U.S. title match with Chris Benoit at Wrestlemania 23 when he took the Crippler to his limit? MVP has been feuding with The Miz for quite a long time now and to be honest every time the two of them met one on one they have had amazing matches. A truly talented individual that has not quite yet been give the chance to prove himself at the highest level since his debut feud with Kane. Wrestlemania XXVI will probably not be his year but his performance on the grandest stage of them all will be up there with everyone else and who knows this year could well be a good year for MVP.

Shelton Benjamin
The Gold Standard, a nickname which is perhaps not very apt as the last time Shelton held a title was March 20th 2009 when he lost his US title to MVP. The best analogy I can think of to describe Shelton’s role in MitB is ‘always the bridesmaid never the bride’ as Shelton has been in 4 of the 5 Money in the Bank matches and at Wrestlemania XXVI he will be entering into his 5th. Shelton will not win tonight, however if he is lucky he might be able to earn a feud with McIntyre over the IC title after MitB depending on how the match pans out.

What is interesting about this year’s MitB is that one of the WWE PPVs later this year is called MitB which would suggest that the briefcase will be cashed sooner rather than later. This could be at Wrestlemania or at the April Pay Per View which at the moment is Extreme Rules a PPV that bodes well for MitB winners. But also this year more so than other years there is no clear winner or even a group of people you could pick to win for example at Wrestlemania XXI Kane, Y2J, Edge and Chris Benoit all looked like viable winners or at Wrestlemania XXIV Y2J, Punk and Mr. Kennedy all looked like they could win. So one of the many reasons why Wrestlemania XXVI will be off the chart this year is that like most of the matches on the card MitB is just too close to accurately call despite my best efforts.

Spear vs. Codebreaker

Royal Rumble winner Edge takes on World Heavyweight Champion and former tag team partner Chris Jericho, in a match that is much more than a title match, this is a grudge match of epic proportions.

Edge was injured during his tag team title reign with Y2J which led to the formation of JeriShow. It also led to lots of taunting from Y2J with regards to Edge’s weakness. Now you don’t need to be a Smark to see what was coming next. Edge returning from injury surprising EVERYONE and went and one it, ruining my predictions I might add! Now all that needed to be addressed was the issue that Edge had a date for the big dance and it wasn’t Y2J. Enter HBK at Elimination Chamber, for purely selfish reasons he took out The Undertaker costing him the big gold belt, in to process much to Edge’s delight Chris Jericho happened to win the Elimination Chamber earning the Big Gold Belt.

Now as this was going on Edge debut an amazing fan favourite phrase ‘Spear!’ no said once is fine, repeated 1,000 times however it begins to grate ever so slightly. But not only did he say the word 1000 times he used the move almost as many taking out the likes of Big Show, Miz and Wade Barrett. Jericho also seemed to be out witted by Edge on every occasion they met, but then there was that fateful Highlight Reel on Smackdown when Y2J attempted to introduce Edge to the Jeri-tron 6000 (I think it is the Jeri-tron 6000 but don’t quote me on that.) Edge reversed it, and set up the Spear, but Y2J was ready and clocked Edge with the WHC belt knocking him out. Fast forward one week to the Cutting Edge and once again Y2J got the better of Edge hitting him this time with the Codebreaker. Through this time Y2J has compared Edge to David Beckham (wow, there is a reference I never thought I’d make on this site) and suggesting that Edge’s DNA well cost him the match as he is injury prone, which compared to Y2J is the case.

This match will probably and hopefully be the last match on the card so that WWE follow tradition of putting the Royal Rumble winners match last on the card. The winner however is not such a clear cut decision, on one hand Edge could complete his triumphant return and spear his way to the Big Gold Belt or will Y2J be able to break the code of the spear and retain? Plus there is the wild card option as there looks to be a Money in the Bank PPV view this year so will Vince continue the Wrestlemania tradition of the past two years of less than a minute title matches and have the MitB winner cash in at Mania against ever the WHC or WWE Champion? All I know for a fact is that I cannot wait for Wrestlemania to find the answer to this question!

This will be a short one, the review that is. ShoMiz are walking in to Wrestlemania XXVI as tag team champions and to be honest with you I see them walking out again with the belts. Both teams have been thrown together. The difference between the two however is that whereas the Miz and Big Show have differing styles but similar personalities. R-Truth and John Morrison are similar in both style and personality, meaning there team is not in my opinion as particularly good one.

Looking at this match it will be a short affair, might even be the opening match, followed by the Money in the Bank, or perhaps you know it will be cut last minute for a another concert perhaps this year by Kevin Rudolph or Fozzy. The talent in this match will make it a good contest if not slightly meaningless compared to HBK vs. Taker or Vince vs. Bret.

Oh yeah, that was it, Ted was meant to leave the others behind and become face, just in time for his new movie coming out. But thanks to a couple of guys on the internet, that never happened and his movie, The Marine 2 (or something) probably bombed, I mean they hardly talked about it.

Anyway back to the match, and the Apex Predator of the WWE, Randy Orton is now the good guy in all of this. But Triple Threat? I know it’s like the only thing we haven’t seen between these guys, but these guys have been left on the back burner on Raw, I mean there would have been better build up if Randy had been seen by Ted kissing Cody, Ted running off cry and bitch slapping Randy Orton.

I heard around a month ago that they wanted to have a Triple Threat with their fathers in each corner and I would actually prefer that, storyline wise. I mean Ted and Cody could have easily beaten up Cowboy Bob Orton whilst he just happened to be visiting his son (for no apparent reason). I mean, hello! Dusty Rhodes just happens to be a play-by-play at FCW, easy or what? And the Million Dollar Man is being inducted into something the night before, what is it? Oh Yeah, The Hall of Fame!

Now seriously back to the match, I have no doubting it will be a good match and these three can pull it off. Well that’s what I said about the Mickie James vs. Michelle McCool match at the Royal Rumble and see what happened to that. This should be a good match and a perfect opportunity for Cody and/or Ted to become breakout stars, and if you want to go with the triple threat stip with the match, you could say single breakout stars.

If they want to be able, by the end of the night, say “I Made It”, this is their make or break match. I say this because I truly want them to succeed, because they have potential and I want them to breakout and in Cody’s case, lose a slump, a cloud around him or is it a glass ceiling. He’s been pissed on too much. Both of them nearly broke through and truly made their names during their feud with DX last year. I mean they were at the top of the world after their win at Breaking Point in their Submissions Count Anywhere Match, but under a month later, they, and mostly Cody, got shat on at Hell in a Cell.

“No one wants to see those young guys, they will never be anything, they suck!”

Well they wouldn’t suck so much if their push hadn’t been stopped at a click of the fingers.

“Who’s that one with the nose, I wanna see more of him”.

Yeah, Triple H didn’t really let those two get past the starting post, Shawn seemed to be up to it, but who’s the Son-In-Law? Oh Yeah.

God, I really can't keep on subject can I. All I can say now is that I hope the match is hundred times better than the build-up. I'm looking for this match to go into the double figures in the minutes column, time wise. And I'm looking for real separation from Cody and Ted, okay fair enough, they will go after Randy together and that I'll play into the commentators hands, but I want it to be a real Triple Threat and not another 2-on-1 with a bit of play fighting between the other two. No matter how gay it sounds.

Why has John Morrison and R Truth AKA Rock 'n' Rap or The White Shadow and Black Magic, been given a tag team title shot at Wrestlemania over established teams like the Hart's or Cryme Tyme or even the Straight Edge Society? Well probably because Cryme Tyme and the Hart Dynasty have less charisma than either John Morrison or R Truth. Why not the Straight Edge Society obviously because Punk is being groomed to taken on Rey Mysterio at Wrestlemania. Although with Bret Hart at Mania it would seem to make sense to have the Hart Dynasty there but I am not going to complain too much as I like the pairing of JoMo and Truth. This match could have potential as the Miz and Morrison have history but, to be honest I don't see the team of The White Shadow and Black Magic of winning as The Big Show's strength will out shine Morrison and Truth's offense, on top of that The Miz is a rising star and I think that taking away his titles could ruin him.

His Name Change: Well we have to accept the things that are handed down to us, but it is pretty close to my name, you know what I mean? I am comfortable with it and I think it is going to be good. Most people who watch WWE Universe have no idea who I am so they don’t know about what my name was before or anything like that.

To them I’m always going to be known as Daniel Bryan. I think that will be okay. WWE.com have caught up on the rumblings on the net about people not being happy that The Miz has been paired with Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson. The Miz has written a new blog on his WWE Universe account that reads the following:
"There has been a lot of controversy this week about me mentoring Daniel Bryan on WWE's new show, WWE NXT.

I've read a lot of interviews, blogs, ect. about the matter and they all seem to be asking the same thing. "Why is The Miz mentoring Daniel Bryan when Daniel Bryan has wrestled all over the world for 10 years plus?"

It's come to my knowledge that some members of the WWE Universe think they know everything about WWE and what it takes to be a WWE Superstar. They think that if a guy does well in the independent minor leagues, then all of a sudden he should be in the WWE.

They think that if a guy can main event in front of a hundred people at a bingo hall, then he's ready to main event at WrestleMania. Just because fans on the Internet say you’re ready doesn't mean you really are.

Just because a fat guy with no teeth who sits in the front row, buys your T-shirt and says you're the king of wrestling, doesn't mean you really are.

What the WWE Universe doesn't understand is there is so much more then I can describe in a single blog involved in being successful in the WWE.

My job is to make Daniel Bryan a star in the WWE, because let's face it, if you look at a picture of him right now, do you think STAR?

No, Daniel Bryan looks like my accountant ... ordinary and bland.

Maybe if he had The Miz's charisma and look, he would have been in the WWE by now. Don't hate on me because it didn't take me a decade to get a WWE contract and go down in WWE history to be the first Superstar to win the United States Title and Unified Tag Team Titles.

Don't get me wrong, Daniel Bryan has all the talent in the world, but every wrestler has weaknesses. And that's what my job is, to find his weakness and make him the biggest star possible.

Deadman vs Underdog

This will be the best singles match of the night. These are two best wrestlers of all time, there is no doubting that and there is no doubt that these two are future Hall of Famers.

The lead up to this match has been interesting, to say the least. 'Taker has been slightly absent from TV and House Shows, he was probably sitting at home watching the #1 Contenders Match when "he" took out Rey and Batista and then his music sounded, a couple of weeks ago, thinking "What? Oh No Not Another Fake Undertaker!"

Batista has been a strange addition to this feud, with his vendetta against lil Rey Rey. His character has evolved as people have really settled into the fact that his music means you "boo!", that might be why they have had him running through the crowd and doing lots of backstage segments. Batista could be one of the biggest heels of 2010, just depending if he can improve his in-ring heel psychology.

Anyway, I digress, the World Heavyweight Championship will be up for grabs and really this will be the thing I least care about in this match, because when at the top of a solid SmackDown card every week is an ever evolving Mysterio vs Batista feud, who seriously needs the Demon of Death Valley. Unless you need a couple more Pay-Per-View Buys.

I don't really know what to think of the lead up into this match that's really why this preview has been so rubbish, I personally am at odds with this feud; but it hasn't needed to be so solid, yeah, there have been good promos here and there, but I mean, remember what this match is again. In finishing I have to say that I liked the end on the run-in Friday Night SmackDown, with Rey and Shawn Michaels (again another HoF'er not far off) and the Undertaker interference, overlapping with the Taker Streak Storyline.

Anyway to be honest, I really don't mind who wins tonight, best odds are on the deadman to be walking out of the Royal Rumble and into Elimination Chamber as the World Heavyweight Championship.

So this is a joke of course, but have you seen his backstage attire (see picture below). Now compare this with the picture below it of Pete Gas, Joey Abs and Rodney. Now I am not saying that a return of the Posse would necessarily be a bad thing but why does Batista as a heel have to have such bad dress sense. Heel Batista from Evolution use to wear suits and that was good so let see a return to that. As O'Dea will tell you I have been watching wrestling a lot longer than he has and I remember what the Mean Street Posse use to be like an in all honesty it would fit Batista's heel character to have some bumbling idiots trying to help and failing costing him more matches. So if WWE ever run this storyline you heard it here first.

The Viper vs. The Milkman

This is my first one of these so lets make it a good one. Sheamus the Celtic Warrior vs. Randy Orton. Well rewind a few months and no one would have believed that this would ever happen. But as they always say 'anything can happen in the WWE!'

Well this match came about after about two years of people seeing the same three people in the main event picture on RAW one way or another usually together: Randy Orton, Triple H and John Cena. Vince for once listen to the fans and went for a young new champion in Sheamus. However, some fans were not happy with that, they moaned that it should have been Bourne or Kofi. Well the old saying goes you can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time. Personally I like Sheamus as champ but I am bias because he is from Ireland and I am from England and we hate the Irish slightly less than the Americans (joke although most stereotypes would have you believe this.)

Orton vs. Sheamus is a Heel vs. a Tweener. WWE would rather Orton was fully heel but the people just love to cheer him. This match could be a classic or it could suck majorly. This depends on Orton's temperament and the crowds reaction and believe it or not the commentary. How this story is told is perhaps more important outside the ring by the commentary team as both Sheamus and Orton are good workers.

The 'smart money' is on Orton according to many people because he is the safe hands the veteran going into Wrestlemania. But given the right opponent at Mania and the right under card joint main event I don't see why he cannot be trusted with the match. Personally, I want to see the Celtic Warrior Sheamus to win. Just to prove that Vince can put faith in a non-veteran to win at a big four.

Royal Rumble 2010: ECW Championship Match

Biblically Extreme

I mean, really, who had Big Zeke winning the ECW Homecoming (unless you read the results from the house shows), which I have to credit WWE for, with a massive gap between PPVs and apparently no number 1 contender (thanks Shelton, you won't be needed anymore, don't worry here's Vance Archer) this concept did a good job and gave some interesting brand overlap, well kinda, the ratings say something else.

Personally, this is the match that I am least looking towards (Methos might disagree), I haven't seen anything really wrestling solid from Jackson, i.e. not just squash matches, personally I think that he wouldn't be anywhere without Master Regal. Regal showed again two Tuesdays ago on ECW what a great wrestler he is with a fantastic 15+ Minutes Match with ECW Champ Christian.

But with the Road to Wrestlemania starting at the Royal Rumble, I wouldn't be surprised if Big Zeke actually wins the title and that Christian gets involved in some sort of controversy. Last Year was the same with Jack Swagger beating Matt Hardy in January and Matt Losing the Rematch at last year's Rumble and as they say the rest is history.

I'm sorry that this preview is short but I don't think the Guyanese Goliath should win, really because I'm not his biggest fan, I'm almost sorry for Christian that he has to wrestle him at all let along at a Big Four Pay-Per-View. (It really does day something that I wrote nearly 3 times more for the Women's Championship Match)

I Am The One!

It's January and that means one thing, the Royal Rumble. 30 men, 1 ring. The winner gains a world title shot at Wrestlemania. The question is who will be 'the one?' But before that I think it is important to look at why the Royal Rumble appeals so much. Well firstly I think it is the uniqueness of the match. I mean a Battle Royal is one thing but the Royal Rumble has the combatants enter one at a time at timed intervals meaning you get more bang for you buck. Another aspect that make the Royal Rumble special is the surprise or random competitors. Who can forget when Drew Carey enter the Royal Rumble in 2001? The fact the Rumble happens once a year adds to hype. The stakes of the match make it that whole much more special. Now once the boring bit of this article has been done it is time to look at some of the entrances and their likelihood of winning or how much I want them to win.

Dolph Ziggler Despite my partners bromance with Mr Ziggles he is yet to be entered into the Rumble this year and if his current run of form is to be counted he won't be. Personal preference to win: 0/10 Likelihood to win: 0/10

The Miz The Awesome One just cannot be stopped at the moment and his improved ability has astounded everyone but as the current U.S Champ and still behind main event status I do not believe he will win the Rumble although would love to see the face on the fans if he did. Personal preference to win: 8/10 Likelihood to win: 2/10

Kane The Big Red Monster is entering his 12th consecutive Royal Rumble and holds the record for the most eliminations in one Rumble (11) but has never won the match. I don't believe WWE will give this Mr. Reliable the Wrestlemania headline spot but it would be popular with the fans. Personal preference to win: 7/10 Likelihood to win: 3/10

Triple H The Cerebral Assassin has won the Rumble before and has headlined Wrestlemania too. But this year it does not seem to be his year. He is currently one half of the Tag Champions and he is teaming with Shawn and so him becoming champ will have to be put on hold. Personal preference to win: 5/10 Likeilhood to win: 4/10

Shawn Michaels Could he do it? Maybe, but I don't know if WWE will do Taker vs. HBK again one year later, but anything can happen right? I would suggest that maybe DX could implode in the Rumble rather than HBK win. Personal preference to win: 5/10 Likelihood to win: 4/10

Vladimir Kozlov Again he has not been entered into the Rumble but I hope that he could win just to see the fans faces. Personal preference to win: 8/10 Likelihood to win: 0/10 (2/10 if entered)

Goldberg Atlanta, Georgia host this years Rumble could this be one of the surprise entrance and could he take the title and beat the World Champion at Mania? Personal preference to win: 5/10 Likelihood to win: 0/10 (3/10 if entered) Likelihood to appear: 5/10

Gillberg 'If you can't be first be next' if Goldberg is not available or even if he is, perhaps the WWE could reintroduce Gillberg for one night only. Personal preference to win: 3/10 Likelihood to win: 0/10 (0/10 if entered) Likelihood to appear: 5/10

Edge The Rated R Superstar is on the shelf at the moment and unless the reports have been fabricated to prevent spoilers it seem unlikly the Rated R Superstar will appear but if he does I think he could go all the way. CM Punk 'I need a Hero' one of the lines from one of the Rumble's themes songs. Is the Straight Edge Saviour 'The One' I would suggest that he could be the hot pick and with a Face title match from Smackdown it could build a great Mania match. Personal preference to win: 9.5/10 Likelihood to win: 9/10

Chris Jericho Y2J has 'never ever' won the Rumble but this year I think he could do it, why? Just to spite HBK, just to prove he is better than HBK. The only thing that might prevent this is his recent alcohol arrest. Personal preference to win: 9.5/10 Likelihood to win: 8/10

Big Show Having been split with Y2J, Big Show win the Rumble. Perhaps, but like Andre the Giant big men rarely do well in the Rumble and this could count against him. Personal preference to win: 6/10 Likelihood to win: 4/10

William Regal The first person to win the Rumble and challenge for the ECW title? OK I know it is unlikely on all fronts but I thought I would show my support for my fellow countryman. Personal preference to win: 8.5/10 Likelihood to win: 2/10

Batista Sick of being screwed over Batista is angry and you wouldn't like him when he is angry and if your name is O'Dea you wouldn't like him full stop. But with the Smackdown main event as is he could be a good shout. Personal preference to win: 1/10 Likelihood to win: 6.5/10

John Morrison Another dark horse in the Rumble he could easily win it if WWE show a leap of faith. They did it with Sheamus why not JoMo? Personal preference to win: 7.5/10 Likelihood to win: 5/10

Jack Swagger The All American American has lost momentum since leaving ECW and has never looked like picking it up and I doubt the Rumble will change this. Personal preference to win: 3/10 Likelihood to win: 1/10

Evan Bourne (See Swagger minus the All American American bit) OK that was a joke but sums up Evan Bourne. Personal preference to win: 3/10 Likelihood to win: 1/10

Goldust Yet to be entered into the Rumble but I do hope the Bizarre One get his shot, even if he is unlikely to win it is always good to see him in the Rumble. Personal preference to win: 3.5/10 Likelihood to win: 0/10 (0.5/10 if entered)

Bret Hart Unlikely to enter into the match because he wants to fight Vince I would have thought but who knows? Anything can happen in the WWE. Personal preference to win: 1.5/10 Likelihood to win: 0/10 (0.5/10 if entered)

Montel Vontavious Porter With his focus being on The Miz I think this year's Rumble is out of MVP's reach but who knows? Personal preference to win: 1/10 Likelihood to win: 0.5/10

John Cena 'The Champ...' is not here. I hope he doesn't win the Rumble and WWE have to particularly hyped him to win, but this is Cena so he is always in for a shout. Personal preference to win: 0.25/10 Likelihood to win: 4/10

Well those are my thoughts so we will have to see what happens on January 31st and who will be the 'One.'

Be thankful people, this might be one of the best divas feuds in a long time and is a serious contender for the best divas match for 2010. Mickie and Michelle are two of the best two women in wrestling right now, no doubt. Mickie James has time and time again shown why she is one of top and best loved women in the WWE, looking for her 5th Women's Championship this Sunday. Michelle has evolved as a wrestler over her career in the WWE and with the exceptions of some unfortunate injuries, she has held her spot as one of this companies best heels. And she isn't a let down in the ring either, you just have to look back to when she won the championship from Melina at last year's The Bash, which was the best and roughest women's match of 2009.

This feud has actually been building for longer than I originally remembered from even before the European Tour in November, when during a match between Mickie and Natalya, Michelle McCool and Layla cut up everything in Mickie's bag whilst Natalya had her in the Sharpshooter, that was over 2 months ago, when was the last time you saw a WWE Divas Feud that has had that longevity and still is a as fresh as when it started. I was a bit annoyed to find out that these to had a match at WWE TLC, which I obviously can't remember. But truly time has been on their side, it has been 6 weeks since that PPV, you just don't get that with the Tri-Branded WWE PPVs anymore (with the exception of Wrestlemania); they have had the time they needed to build a solid program between these two, between matches.

Now if you think about it WWE have been very cleaver, this is such a simple feud, all it is about is bullying for the simple reason that she might be a little bigger than the others, but is she really, she might weigh a bit more than the others, but the audience doesn't necessarily know that. Yeah she might not be inch perfect in places but she isn't fat, I mean have you looked at the size of Western Civilization recently, we're fat b*****ds. To be honest if WWE wasn't PG right now, it would be more probable that they were calling her a country "slut", you need to do some research on that point.

During this feud since TLC there has been very little wrestling, McCool, for example, since Christmas has only been in one match, the one against Layla as "Piggy" James this past Friday on Smackdown. But this isn't a bad thing, not in this feud at least the quality of promos have been fantastic and the fans would rather see that than a divas tag match with Maria (no offense, doll), Michelle is gold on the mic, along with Maryse, she is one of the female Chris Jerichos, don't forget she was a teacher, she has that way with words.

There have been three other very interesting people in this feud, mainly on the side of Michelle, the first being Beth Phoenix, with her decision in whether to be a part of the bullying or not and stand up for Mickie. I would say that it's good psychology by WWE, but to be honest it is very run of the mill WWE heel/face turn if you think about it. Second is Layla, who has formed a great heel stable with McCool, Lay-Cool (straight from Matt Striker's mouth). Those two are great together and have perfect charisma. They tired to pair Alicia Fox with Michelle during mid-2009 but the fire wasn't really there, but for Layla, this feud and being Michelle's partner in crime is exactly what she needed, she wasn't getting far in dancing matches versus Eve, whilst being cheered on by the boys from the hood. Third is the amazing Matt Striker, he has added to the outnumbered feel against Mickie in this feud, cheering on Team Lay-Cool and backing up every action and thing they said. Sometimes watching Mickie/Lay-Cool segments on Smackdown can be like watching old Raw is War episodes with super heel commentary from Jerry Lawler and I love it. "Puppies!"

Believe me I have come to appreciate this feud and they will not disappoint this Sunday.

Zing, Zest & Ziggler

I just finished watching Rey Mysterio vs Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship from SummerSlam, where Dolph had one of the matches of his career, he was on it every second of the way and was getting a great reaction from the crowd in LA. Unluckaily for Ziggler, Mysterio prevailed and then couple of weeks later handed the baton to John Morrison before quietly being ushered out of the way for 30 days. And if you believe what you read on the internet, Dolph was going to walk out of the Staples Center with the gold, if it wasn't for a stubborn little man, anyway I'm not going to elaborate.

That match alone, without even going back to their first encounter at Night of Champions, illustrated Dolph Ziggler's class, talent and ability. You have a great athlete who obviously can step up to the plate when it really matters and then they just drop him on his head, leave him to dissolve into the SmackDown mid-card, why?! Dolph is one of the greatest talents in the years and they just go off him, lose interest.

Dolph is a victim of circumstance, Dolph was going to win at Breaking Point, Rey and him had a match on card in the weeks leading up to the PPV. Unluckily, Dolph ended up laughing at Pat Patterson on the 30th Anniversary of the him winning the first Intercontinental Championship, which to be honest I think that Vince does that every week backstage, yes he works for them.

The irresponsible actions of Rey Rey was really the main reason Dolph lost his "push". The drugs I mean, not the fact that he wanted to make love to his championship for another month before giving it over, before his urine told the doctors that he needed to hand it over a little earlier and not to Dolph.

The last time that Dolph was on PPV he was the first to get eliminated in the Team Miz vs Team Morrison match at Survivor Series, not really something to brag about, considering seconds after Evan pinned him, Bourne got mashed up by Drew McIntyre. Dolph was going to be in the 7-vs-7 Bragging Rights Match, until 2 days before when they they totally U-Turned the whole team leaving Dolph empty handed again. The last one-on-one match on PPV was at Hell in a Cell, vs Morrison for the title, which was a good match, and as Jim Ross said at the start of that match, those two are the future of the WWE. But since then, the term bench-warmer comes to mind, yeah he's been on TV, who hasn't? But it's not good enough, this is one talent that has hit a slight peak so far, at the wrong time. And that's not anything against him, like I said he's a victim.

WWE need to have some confidence in Dolph, or as John Morrison would say "Mr Ziggles" (which really didn't help his cause and for me was embarrassing to watch, I hope that John didn't come up with that himself). Give him a match at No Way.... sorry...... Elimination Chamber, maybe put him in the Intercontinental Title hunt again in a multi-person situation with McIntyre and Morrison, believe me WWE, you won't be disappointed. And please, help yourself, by building him and building the higher mid-card.

I think it's a shame that he can't have a match against Chris Jericho, to help his stock a bit, you've seen the great matches he has week in week out on SD with the likes of Morrison, Kane, R-Truth.

Yes, Dolph in past weeks has been picking up great technical wins against Kane, using some great "real" wrestling. But I'm feeling any sort of "buzz" around him that I do with the likes of Jericho and Morrison. He needs a build to a one-on-one PPV Match, or PPV standard match now we're on the Road to WrestleMania. Talking of WrestleMania, I like the sound of Dolph in the MITB, I don't think that he would win, WWE don't have the metaphorical "balls" to do that at this moment in time, but he would be perfect for the match, yes, he would have to get a bit use to the ladders, but so does everyone else.

I pray for Dolph right now and thinking about the money in the bank, I don't want him to end up as a Shelton Benjamin, great athlete, can have fantastic TV matches but is going to have glass ceiling above him and him hitting the real main event.

But hey, what do I know?! Maybe he should cash in on Maria's appearance on Celebrity Apprentice, by doing more closet scenes (not gay innuendo).

Randy Orton Responds To Assault Claims

Randy Orton wrote a message on his website regarding the alleged incident after the recent WWE show in Boston at Kowloon's restaurant. Here's Orton's side of the story:
“Here’s what happened: I walked out of Kowloon’s Friday night around 12:30-1 a.m. with Santino and a police officer escort. As I was being rudely hounded for pictures and autos (I had a 6:40 a.m. flight through Minni to Lincoln, then a drive to Omaha, a match, a drive back to Omaha, then a charter to Minni, and a driver to Rochester for the next show the next day, btw), I was confronted by an older women who said: ‘Hey Randy, you spit on my handicapped son a few years ago at a show, what do you have to say about that?’ My replay...`So Sue me.’ Then I proceeded to my car, with Santino and the cop and drove back to our hotel by the Boston airport. I know I have been a bit of a hothead in the past, but I DID NOT spit gum and call names to any child. The women is claiming I called her son a `retard’ 3 times, and spit gum in his face. Come on people, even at my worst temperament, I would never call a handicapped child something awful like that. I’ll actually sign anything for any child with any disability. I heard just today from WWE attorneys that this women filed assault charges against me 4 days later? Hmmm, oh, and what about the dozens of cops at the restaurant that were there for crowd control since there were over 100 wrestling fans there? Not to mention the cop that escorted me to my freaking car. I’ll be happy when this is over. I guess if I’ve learned anything from this, it is not to ever challenge anyone to sue me.”

World Wrestling Entertainment parted ways with a confirmed total of fifty-seven "name" individuals in 2009 — twenty-seven performers from the main roster, eighteen wrestlers from developmental, as well as twelve "name" personnel. This is up one from the previous year.

WWE Sound Engineer to Tyler Reks "Nice Knowing Ya"

It would appear that Tyler Reks is in danger of being let go by World Wrestling Entertainment as a sound engineer who works for the company cryptically wrote "Nice knowing ya" on his Twitter account this evening in reference to witnessing the sparingly used ECW grappler behaving erratically during his flight home from Green Bay this morning — the site of last night's SmackDown & ECW television tapings.

The sound engineer in question, Marc Lanciaux, wrote a lengthy blog on his website detailing the bizarre incident he witnessed.

Sarcastically referencing Reks as 'Einstein,' he noted that 'Einstein' became terrified when he saw the airplane flap move just before takeoff. A worried Reks informed a flight attendant that he was a pilot himself and said that wasn't supposed to happen. Feeling that the plane was unsafe, he raised his voice and became belligerent. Apparently feeling that he could be a disruption during the flight, flight staff had the plane return to the terminal in order to escort him off. But just before he got off the plane, Lanciaux claims Reks mumbled "that if anyone else on the plane didn't want to die, they should get off the plane too." The pilot then announced to the remaining passengers that the plane was indeed safe to fly.

Here is what Lanciaux wrote regarding the incident in question "This time, instead of a frightened teen running off the plane, one of 'our guys,' one of the new wrestlers that recently started traveling with the show walked out. Though I recognized him, he's so new that I'm not sure what his name is. After today there's probably no good reason to try and find out either. I will just call this unknown wrestler 'Einstein.' Turns out that Einstein was sitting near the wing, and out the window, witnessed a terrifying (to him) event. To his horror, one of the flaps that make the plane fly or land or whatever it is that those moving parts on the wing do... moved! GASP! After witnessing this, Einstein freaked out, telling the flight attendant that he was a pilot himself and he knew that wasn't supposed to happen. He was sure the plane was unsafe. He started getting louder and louder, and more and more obnoxious. The decision was made. Time for Mr. Einstein to go bye-bye. Our flight turned around and my double date with both Ginger and Mary-Ann was ruined. On his way out the door, Einstein mumbled that if anyone else on the plane didn't want to die, they should get off the plane too. I'm sure that the waiting TSA knuckle-draggers had a field day with this guy."

Lanciaux then identified him by name on his Twitter account, cryptically writing: "Thank you Tyler Reks for not only delaying our flight, but also for providing me with blog material. Nice knowing ya."

While Reks has not appeared on WWE programming since early November, he is still being flown to shows on a weekly basis. As of late, he has been trying out a new found heelish persona at live events and dark matches.

Randy Orton Accused of Assaulting Teen

ABC Affiliate out of Boston, WCVB 5 is reporting among other news outlets that a teenage boy has pressed charges against Randy Orton for assault on Tuesday, this is from their website thebostonchannel.com:
"BOSTON -- A local teen said a World Wrestling Entertainment star assaulted him outside a restaurant on Tuesday after he asked for a picture.

Wrestler Randal “Randy” Orton is accused of spitting gum in the face of the teen and swearing at him outside Kowloon Restaurant, WickedLocal Saugus reported.

A 15-year-old male went to the Saugus Police Station on Tuesday to reported that Orton, 29, assaulted him after asking if he could take a picture with the wrestler at the Route 1 restaurant around 6:30 p.m.

A second teen told police he witnessed the incident.
Police filed a hearing request on the matter for simple assault and battery, the paper reported."

It is also making the rounds on the Wrestling Dirt Sheets that once the boy's mother interjected about the incident he said, "So Sue Me!"

Randy Orton has been known for his short temper in the past and has spoken about it openly and frankly, and the anger management that he underwent a few years ago. The most recent example of this, even though it could have easily have been planned, was when he "flipped out" in an interview on Mexican TV, when the interviewer called him "fragile", as you can see in the video below:

Jim Ross Responds to Vince Russo's Cage Match Comments

"Show me the wrestling rule book where it says you can't have a DQ in a cage match. As far as Monday night's match went - there was a reason 'behind the scenes' why the match had to end in a DQ. Also, are you saying that you would never see a DQ in an MMA match because it's inside a cage?"

JR then posted the following response:

"Been reading on line some interviews with those in the biz who feel that Cage Matches need not a winner via the stipulations set forth in the presentation. I could not disagree more. Cage Matches were created to bring about closure, literally and figuratively, and to have a disqualification in a cage match is wrong...in my opinion. Granted, my opinion may not be 100% accurate either but it's my opinion nonetheless.

I'm not even a big fan of 'escaping the cage' to determine a winner in a cage match but I can live with that easier than I can seeing someone get disqualified inside a cage in a pro wrestling match. Ugh."

In an interview with Canada's Slam.Canoe.ca, former WWE superstar The Brian Kendrick Kendrick speaks out against the "backstabbers, power hungry people, suck ups, weak people" in World Wrestling Entertainment. Kendrick told SLAM! that his time on the RAW brand, his final run with the company, was miserable.
"I am a good wrestler, I did a good job. I also know that certain behavior was encouraged, some actions were frowned upon, and I didn't care. TV sucked because you saw a circus, backstabbers, power hungry people, suck ups, weak people," Kendrick said. "Also lots of really great, nice, funny people. But I felt like a tool sitting in the bleachers waiting in case they need my skills for something."

Kendrick suspects his marijuana use was part of the reason he was underutilized and says WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis acted "cowardly" by firing him over the phone.

"He then tells me ... I wasn't really getting the job done like they expected, at which point I said, "Bulls--- Johnny, I made a 60-year-old man look like he still belongs in the ring; don't give me that.' Johnny had always been very supportive of my work to my face, always. I know that was garbage. He then says, 'Look do you want help getting to Japan or what?' I was insulted. I don't want his help. I told him I don't need his help. I asked for the real reason, "Is it the pot fines?' I had a script for it, I had heated discussions with Dr. Black, I had to refuse a test to get him to call me at one point. He wouldn't admit to that. I wanted honesty, maybe I got it, but I think more likely I am dealing with a coward. He did fire me over the phone after all."

Kendrick even said he was smoking cigarettes during that time and if he had one now, he'd puke.

"The boss, I heard, not from his mouth, hates cigarettes, so I would smoke a half a pack a day at work," he said. "It was also an excuse to get the f--- out of the building for 10 minutes at a stretch."

Kendrick also spoke about his tag team with Paul London, what he's doing now and his future in the wrestling business.
