This Day in Wrestling History - September 6th

In 1997 on this day, Diana, Princess of Wales was laid to rest in front of a television audience of more than 2.5 billion. But from a wrestling stand point, September 6th has never been the most eventful day.
2006: Kelly Kelly’s first wrestling match took place on this day at the OVW TV tapings in Louiseville, Kentucky, where she participated in a Women's battle royal won by ODB.
1986: WWF Superstars of Wrestling debuted on this day, the show ran until 2001 and up until the 1993 and the debut of Monday Night Raw was the flagship show of the WWE/WWF. Click here for a full recap of that first show.
1980: Jillian Hall was born on this day in Ashland, Kentucky, USA. Lance Storm, who trainer here and many of the WWE Divas, says she’s a good wrestler but WWE don’t see that.
1979: Brandon Silvestry aka Low-Ki or Kaval was born on this day, he’s known for his appearances in ROH, TNA, MMA & is currently a part of FCW in WWE, but of this writing he is injured.
