Major WWE Rumor: Batista to reform Mean Street Posse

So this is a joke of course, but have you seen his backstage attire (see picture below). Now compare this with the picture below it of Pete Gas, Joey Abs and Rodney. Now I am not saying that a return of the Posse would necessarily be a bad thing but why does Batista as a heel have to have such bad dress sense. Heel Batista from Evolution use to wear suits and that was good so let see a return to that. As O'Dea will tell you I have been watching wrestling a lot longer than he has and I remember what the Mean Street Posse use to be like an in all honesty it would fit Batista's heel character to have some bumbling idiots trying to help and failing costing him more matches. So if WWE ever run this storyline you heard it here first.

ECW, Some people need to Shut the Hell up

This is just a short article about ECW, the third brand of WWE. Now lets clear one thing up the last time O'Dea watched ECW George Bush was in the White House, so I would love to know where all his deep insight on the brand is coming from. With regards to me calming down about Regal cause he is English, well if O'Dea thinks that is the only reason I value about the British Brawler then he is very wrong. In all honest the WWE have been under using a very talented Superstar, Regal is one of the best technical wrestler in WWE and that was proved in WCW. Interestingly O'Dea mentioned Drew McIntyre because unlike William Regal Drew McIntyre is being used properly so therefore he would not need to jump up and down about him. Also if you are looking at the Dirty Awards they are meant to cover all of WWE which includes ECW and Kozlov is under-ratted but O'Dea has always hated Kozlov and to be honest he seems to hate all big men: Batista, Kozlov and the Great Khali all fall it to O'Dea's web of hate (although I agree with regards to Khali.) ECW has also got lots of great talented young superstars. What ECW lacks is time, being only a hour show it causes lots of difficulties in making the program fresh. But overall ECW has all the raw potential to be a great third brand if given the chance.

2009 Dirty Awards: Best Storyline of the Year

This Dirty should not be confused with Best Feud of the Year. This Dirty is looking at everything involved except the matches between the Superstars involved. The reason why Cena vs. The Miz won is that it really helped The Miz get to where he is now a serious rising star. The promos The Miz cut were amazing and to be honest what he was saying about Cena echoed what some of the crowd was thinking. The Batista vs. Mysterio angle is good but I did dislike the use of Eddie Guerrero’s death which mean this storyline could never win the Dirty. Jeff Hardy and CM Punk had brilliant matches but the storyline itself got very repetitive, there is only so many times you can hear about freedom of choice and the evils of drugs before you get bored. Kingston vs. Orton the only thing perhaps stopping this feud winning the Dirty is that it started to late in the year. Y2J vs. Legends feud really got a shot in the arm by the violent assault against Ric Flair which might have been the first blood I had seen before the PG split which made it special. But Mickey Rouke and a lack of development let this feud down and meant it could not win the Dirty.

O’Dea Notes: And the fact that Mickey Rouke randomly calling him out and then being told that because of an insurance policy, he couldn’t fight a fly let alone a Jericho. We don’t care about Ironman 2.

2009 Dirty Awards: Most Over-Rated

Shane McMahon was an accomplished wrestler about 10 years ago. But he is a part timer wrestler and a business man. So the idea that Randy Orton would be taken to the limit by him is ridiculous hence why at No Way Out Shane McMahon earned the Most Overrated Dirty. Mr. Kennedy likewise became a close contender because after his hyped return this year he lasted one night. Speaking of one hit wonders we have come to perhaps someone who perhaps is in this category unfairly is Mickey Rouke. He has said that his lawyers and insurance company stopped him doing more but even with that being the case his appearance was disappointing. Primo I will not spend too much time on but I didn’t rate him as Carlito’s partner, never thought he should be a tag champion and most importantly never rated him as a single competitor. Batista well, personally this was O’Dea’s choice and I will let him elaborate.

Where do I start? Let’s do this chronologically. What was wrong with Jeremy Piven? Dr Ken was just an epic failure. Secondly the ultimate sin was committed he called Summerslam ‘Summerfest’ even an avid WWE fan like Methos was confused and thought that it was a beach party or something. Likewise Floyd Mayweather failed as a guest host because he was only on RAW for part of the show and all he did was make an awful match. So this Dirty is being shared.

O’Dea Note: Summerfest is actually a music festival in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. And to add there have been some truly shocking guest hosts since the start, I think that these are true winners with Mayweather being the worst, turning up late because he probably shot someone the night before and then helped a negative stereotype by giving MVP knuckledusters, isn’t he an ex-con?

Monday Night Thoughts/Tuesday Morning Reactions

Lets be honest, this was a very strange and indifferent episode of Monday Night Raw. First off the best wrestlers tonight were the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions "Team Ego" Chris Jericho & Edge, with a great (but cut short) promo before their title defense, which was a fantastic match where all four performers work perfectly with each other.

I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, lets start at the start with Vince McMahon and his continuing heel turn, he's not giving away a commercial-free Raw or a ticket refund because WWE can't afford it and it creates easy heat. I heard something about a 15 man trade for about 2 seconds, but since that had already slightly leaked onto the net, there was no worries. Then he introduced the guest host not the GM, Batista! Ohhhhhh! I don't give a s**t! No no, I'm being harsh, he gave us a 4-man tournament and a 3-on-Randy Orton Gauntlet Match (which Batista did really well not to tell us that it was going to be 3 new Raw superstars). Tournament Cena-Miz & HHH-MVP, well I wonder how that's gonna turn out.

First match tonight, Triple H vs MVP. It was obvious which way the match was going to go, but this was a rubbish match to start Raw, it didn't even go over an ad break. The finish was rubbish, too predictable! MVP goes for the playmaker, I knew that HHH would get out of it then s**t all over one of the best young competitors in WWE with the Pedigree (which is the most boring and over use finisher EVER!). Will Triple H ever lose against someone like MVP. And can he please leave Randy Orton alone, how much more can they do between these two, Randy is great, HHH is a douche! They tried to re-vamp this feud in the Road to WrestleMania, considering they had a long summer run last year, ending quicker than WWE would have wanted when Hunter broke Randy's collar bone. So, for the rest of the first hour I was pissed off about how Triple H shat on MVP, why?

Next up was the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship Match, already talked about this, loved it all. Okay, at the time of writing, I hadn't watched the whole of "The Bash" PPV so didn't see all the Cena-Miz Match but I heard that it was crap and didn't live up to any of the hype. On Raw they replayed the recap promo from the night before and I think that it must have been longer than the actually match on Sunday.

This match, which was the second in the Night of Champions #1 Contenders Tournament was good and was a solid match and they should have had a match of that caliber at the PPV, it's called a Pay-Per-View for a reason! I enjoyed this match when I got into it and knew that it wouldn't be a straight squash (and why the f**k would it be!). Except for the very end, "Moves of Doom" and Short tap to shit hold, I like this match considering it was unfortunately obvious the outcome.

I'm really liking the Miz, he's good in and out (theoretically) of the ring, even Chris Jericho, master of the heel, said about Miz practicing his promos backstage on Sunday: "In the pretape room inside re Arco arena watching Miz stumble and mumble his way through humane society promos. Top entertainment!".

Haven't heard of a Women's Fatal-Four Way before yesterday night, not bad, but don't they have a better heel than Rosa Mendes. Alright match, but when they where on the outside trying to allow others to fight in the ring, they looked like right idiots. One thing, near the end of the match, Beth Phoenix was dropped off the apron and it looked like she really smashed her head on the ring steps, that look and sounded too real, if it was, Michael Cole said that Maryse was laughing at that point, evil bitch, haha.

Here comes the Big Show, where is he going with any storyline right now, what, is he going to get a United States Championship match at Night of Champions, shut up. Double countout, could you really see a non-Big Show win against Kofi being anything but a countout or DQ, but hey a double countout is the same sorta stuff. Show then looked like a douche by storming out, doing nothing and the camera following him all the way, couldn't they have just gone to a break earlier. Silly match.

The Main Event was a 3-on-1 Gauntlet Match with the WWE Champion Randy Orton facing off against 3 new performers that have been "traded" to Raw. First up Evan Bourne, yeah! That's good, and strangely I didn't know how much of a size difference the was going to be between Evan and Randy, Evan looked like a child with his child-like head. He did well in the short time but lost from a massive top rope RKO after Orton stopped the Shooting Star Press, lost. Up next, again from ECW, Jack Swagger! YES! I'm loving this, he showed in april at the Draft show against John Cena how he can hold his own against the big boys in WWE. His future is bright. And finally, Mark Henry, who got a great reaction? What? Does everyone in the arena remember who this is, but actually he played it as a babyface, this is the only way I think I'm going to be able to enjoy Mark Henry, but I think I'm really going to enjoy face Mark Henry. I started to remember Sexual Chocolate, it won't be like that, but he's smiling and soaking up the pop from the crowd, who have been very good all night. But the end was very lackluster, I was thinking "Oh, Is that it? I guess so... Erm, Yeay!"

It was alright and it'll be interesting to see how the new superstars will slot in, is Jack Swagger the new Legacy member, Randy was rather surprised at Jack's actions and count-out (on the ring apron). I think I'm looking forward to next week, Ted DiBiase Sn. as Guess Host and HHH-Cena for WWE Title shot at Night of Champions (btw its so obvious its going to be a triple threat, because they've done Orton-HHH, too much and they will not let either of their biggest faces be beat like they beat Miz & MVP), YEAH?

Wounded Animal?

WWE.com has reported that "The Animal" Batista will be out for atleast 4 months, it is not yet known if this is just a cover for his original injury or the beatdown on Monday Night was as real as the WWE want you to believe. Saying that he has a "completely torn left bicep" This Article is from WWE.com: Less than 24 hours after capturing the WWE Championship for the first time in his career, Batista has suffered a completely torn left bicep requiring surgery that will keep him out of action for at least four months. The day after he defeated Randy Orton at Extreme Rules, Batista was looking forward to beginning his first ever WWE Championship reign. However, when he appeared on Raw he was in for an unpleasant surprise as he was viciously attacked by The Legacy. The assault left The Animal with a torn bicep, for which he will be undergoing surgery today. Unfortunately, even with the prompt medical treatment, this injury is expected to render Batista unable to compete for several months. Though Batista struggled mightily against his foes, the superior numbers of The Legacy were ultimately too much, as the group of multi-generational Superstars overcame the WWE Champion. The three devious ring warriors focused their attacks on Batista’s left arm, using every underhanded method available to them, applying pressure using the ring ropes, the group’s trademark stomps, and even bringing a steel chair into the mix. Following the craven attack, Orton retrieved the WWE Title from his fallen nemesis, a symbolic act, but one that raises an important question: With Batista injured, what does the future hold for the coveted WWE title?

Tonight on Raw

Tonight on Raw, along with the new WWE Champion Batista opening the show, 24 Hours after beating the Big Show, John Cena faces The Miz, in a lesson of respect? And also the Divas Champion Maryse will put her title on the line in a rematch against Kelly Kelly. Announced on the WWE Universe Live Chat was a Non-Title Match between Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Primo & Carlito and Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, if Legacy win they get a future title shot.

Déjà PPVu - Latest Extreme Rules Card

Lets be honest, right now the WWE PPV summer schedule is in full swing, but this is a bit off-colour having the 1st five PPV matches that have been confirmed being a rerun of Judgement Day, just with stipulations. I understand that this is the way the WWE run their summer feuds, and maybe even with Cena-Show, the stipulation has a bit of sorry behind it, but it just seems too "same-ish" (and not in a good way). And then you add in that people like Cena and Mysterio apparently (story-line wise) want to move on from their Judgement Day opponents, but still get put back into those matches, it's too obvious because is there anyone else for Cena to go after whilst Randy Orton is locked in a Steel Cage. And what is a Samoan Strap Match, on Smackdown Friday night is just looked like a long and fat belt, it that it (and it was strange to here Umaga speak in his normal "American" voice, well he hardly going to have a strong Samoan accent, considering Dwanye "Not the Rock" Johnson is his cousin). FOLLOW-UP NOTE: I've been doing to research and I've found out that CM Punk hasn't been on a PPV card only 6 times since WrestleMania 23 (the point at which all WWE PPVs became Tri-branded) in 2007 (and on one of them, at Cyber Sunday 2008, he could have had a match and was also on the poster for the PPV). And between WrestleMania 23 and 24 he only missed Backlash 2007. At the worst PPV in WWE History, December to Dismember, CM Punk was in the Extreme Elimination Chamber after only being on WWE Programming for 5 Months, that after being in DX's Survivor Series team in 2006. WWE seem to have trust in him ever since he came to the company and now believe that he can become one of the biggest faces on Smackdown.

Massive Raw Main Event from The STAPLES Center and Vince ready to file Lawsuit?

The following is from WWE.com: Live on Raw from Los Angeles' STAPLES Center, WWE presents its answer to the Lakers vs. the Denver Nuggets. WWE Champion Randy Orton, Legacy, The Miz & Big Show face U.S. Champion MVP, Batista, John Cena, Jerry Lawler & a fifth "player."

WWE issued the following statement on their website announcing the Raw in Los Angeles for this Monday: STAMFORD, Conn. – World Wrestling Entertainment has made arrangements, given innumerable logistical challenges and obstacles, to move its internationally televised broadcast, WWE Monday Night Raw to Los Angeles' STAPLES Center. The live televised event, which was scheduled to take place at the Pepsi Center in Denver this Monday, May 25th, will take place live at the STAPLES Center at 5:30 p.m. PT. Tickets for Monday Night Raw in Los Angeles will become available tonight at 8 p.m. ET. WWE was forced to seek alternative arrangements due to the Pepsi Center's double-booking of May 25 for both WWE Monday Night Raw and Game 4 of the NBA Western Conference Finals. The event will now take place live from the home of the Denver Nuggets' opponents, the Los Angeles Lakers. Denver fans wishing to receive a refund for their tickets to the originally scheduled Pepsi Center event must return tickets to the original point of purchase. Vince McMahon spoke to 9News and once again seems to be considering legal action against Denver Nuggets and Pepsi Center owner Stan Kroenke. McMahon said: "It's really unfortunate because if he were just a regular business man and picked up the phone and said, 'Vince, you know, we're throwing you out but I want to make it right, what can we do?' I never heard from Kroenke, I don't know if anyone else has either, by the way, he's somewhat of a Howard Hughes guy I understand. I think our company has been damaged severely from a financial standpoint and from a psychological standpoint as well. You don't treat people the way Kroenke's management treated us. I'm not a litigious kind of guy, but quite frankly when we have a contract and we have over 10,000 tickets sold and you just say: we're out, and we're not going to do anything for you, you know we're not going to make any restitution. We may pay for your additional expenses, that's it. There could very well be a lawsuit down the road." In related news, TMZ.com has picked up the news that Raw is moving to Los Angeles and writes, "Vince isn't moving out of the kindness of his heart, he and the Nuggets struck a settlement -- but the terms of that deal haven't been made public yet."

Raw Main Event Matches Set for Extreme Rules

Two Matches were made yesterday night on Raw. The WWE Championship will be on the line in a steel cage, will Orton be able to keep the Animal caged and retain his title or will Batista give the champion his just desserts.

Also at Extreme Rules, John Cena will face the Big Show against in a submission match. Will Cena be able to lock in the STF and make it 2-0 or will the Big Show use his new submission hold to put Cena out for good.

Judgement Day 2009: WWE Championship (HQ)

WWE Champion Randy Orton has made a career out of accomplishing the unthinkable. At just 24 years of age, The Legend Killer became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history. He’s held the coveted WWE Championship a total of three times. And, most notably, he has single-handedly brought the McMahon family to their knees – a conquest culminated by a kick to the skull of Triple H at Backlash. The time to celebrate his latest unsavory success, however, may have already passed. Now, it appears, another seemingly insurmountable challenge presents itself: Retain the WWE Championship at Judgment Day against a fuming Batista bent on revenge. It’s not an easy proposition. After all, The Animal has been starved for competition for months while rehabbing from a blow to the head, an injury caused by a kick from Orton. There’s little doubt that Batista would love nothing more than to punish the man who put him on the shelf. And if his performance of late is any indication, The Animal appears more than ready to administer retribution. If any opponent can slither out of the ring with a victory, though, it’s most definitely the current incarnation of Orton. The past seven years have wizened the once self-destructive rebel. While he remains as unpredictable as he was while in Evolution with Batista, his attacks appear more calculated, more focused – there now appears to be a method to his madness. His cultivation of his Legacy cohorts Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase only serves to bolster the argument that Orton is willing to wait for just the right moment to strike, and he isn’t afraid to enlist help to further his cause. The WWE Champion has been relishing his recent conquests in the lead up to Judgment Day, and would likely savor the opportunity to add Batista to his list of already impressive accomplishments. For his part, the challenger – a multiple-time former World Heavyweight Champion – would like nothing more than a chance to end Orton’s tyrannical reign and, in the process, lay claim to a title he’s never held.

Thoughts on Orton vs Batista & WWE's Young Guns (HQ)

I don't know why, but I feel like I've seen Orton-Batista too many times and over a too short a time period, by looking at the picture on the match preview, it just looks too same-ish. And when it's only Judgement Day, the second summer PPV, that's not great for WWE, there's a long time until Summerslam and I'm already bored with this match. It might be because of the disappointing match they had a Armageddon, which I don't actually remember that well.

In theory these two are two of the biggest stars in the WWE, and probably could have a great match. But they will not because Batista is not the star, athlete or wrestler that Randy Orton is, he's boring, he's the same old stuff night after night and to be honest he's an over paid and over hyped powerhouse (like the common fat school bully). His best years are behind him, from this point on, he will not have a career-defining match. At this point in time, someone like Santino Marella has a better chance at a history-making match or moment, than Batista.

Sure, I'm being harsh and angry, but that's it as well, I feel distain for Batista, he angers me (and seeing him doing absolutely nothing, just standing around, at the Hatton-Pacquiao fight on Saturday didn't help, only cause WWE didn't have any House Shows this weekend).

Anyway, away from how s**t Batista is. WWE could have used this as a chance to get a real #1 contender, and not just through a stupid match, that was an apparent set up by Vickie and Big Show, which was always going to go Batista's way. But I do have to commend the WWE slightly on the drama with Cena coming out to taunt Show, considering they nearly killed him off the night before; I have to admit I didn't expect that.

As I was saying, with two of the WWE's top superstars "on the shelf", this could have been the golden opportunity to showcase some real young talent. Whilst on the subject, it'll be interesting to see how a John Morrison face turn will work, you can see it happening already, even with him saying "S'up Teddy" to Teddy Long rather casually. And I really want to see Morrison and Jericho square off, ironic considering JR has called Morrison a young Shawn Michaels; he also looked good against Shelton Benjamin, but would have loved to seen an epic match, like Shelton and 'Taker had the other week. That's another supertstar who has it all just not the backing from Vince, at least he's got a bit further than his former tag team partner Charlie Haas, who seems to be finishing his impersonating days and tag teaming with Knox whilst over here in Europe. And also it'll be good to see how Miz's heel run goes on Raw after his "win" over John Cena on Monday Night.
